    Executive Director

    Position Summary

    • The Executive Director will provide visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational management to the organization.
    • This role requires a dynamic and experienced leader with a deep commitment to human rights, gender sensitivity and cultural competence.
    • The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to advance the organization's mission and impact.

    Key Responsibilities
    Leadership and Strategy:

    • Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan in alignment with its mission and goals.
    • Provide inspirational leadership and direction to the staff and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization.
    • Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board of Directors and ensure open communication about the measurement of financial, programmatic, and impact performance against stated milestones and goals.

    Program Development and Management:

    • Oversee the design, delivery, and quality of programs and services, ensuring they meet the needs of sex trafficking survivors and prevention efforts.
    • Ensure that programmatic efforts are evidence-based, culturally competent, and gender-sensitive.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, making adjustments as necessary to enhance outcomes.

    Fundraising and Resource Development:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial support from diverse sources, including individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
    • Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, funders, and partners.
    • Oversee grant writing and reporting, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

    Advocacy and Public Relations:

    • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, effectively communicating its mission, programs, and impact to the public, media, and stakeholders.
    • Advocate for policies and legislation that support sex trafficking prevention and survivor rehabilitation.
    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, community organizations and other stakeholders.

    Financial and Operational Management:

    • Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget, ensuring financial stability and sustainability.
    • Oversee financial management, including accounting, reporting, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement effective operational policies and procedures to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work / Human Rights / Nonprofit Management / Public Administration / Law (Master’s Degree preferred)
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role within a nonprofit organization, preferably in human trafficking, human rights, or social services sectors.
    • Proven track record in strategic planning, program development, and organizational leadership.
    • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor relations, and resource development.
    • Strong understanding of cultural competence and gender sensitivity, with experience working in diverse and multicultural environments.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and community partners.
    • Strong financial management skills, including budget development and oversight.
    • Passionate about the mission of combating sex trafficking in Africa and supporting survivors.
