Generator Technician at Dogan's Sugar Limited

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Must be conversant with all types of generator e.g 100KVA Perkins generator, C-15 Mantrac generator and so on.
• Able to perform generator troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Able to perform generator repairs as well as preventive maintenance and checking for worn out parts and leaks.
• Rewiring and installing control panel and voltage regulators
• Used test equipment and hand tools to locate the causes of breakdowns and/or system
• Calibrating and inspecting equipment.
• Ensure efficient and effective maintenance services of all Generator sets (Including servicing, troubleshooting, fault finding and repairs).
• Electrical troubleshooting and relay logic.
• Knowledge of AC/DC power.
• Able to test current and voltage in a safe manner.
• Repair and /or replace damaged parts on generators.
• Ensure that all generators and control systems are kept in good order and are regularly inspected and maintained in accordance with health and safety requirements and are fully compliant with FCO Standards.
• Daily Inspect generators to identify faults, maintain, service, replace parts and repair official generators as directed in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations and schedule.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Qualified (City and Guilds or equivalent) Service Engineer capable of working on generators up to 500KVA
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in the field.
• Professionally trained in: Mechanical engineering, power electronics systems, mechatronic engineering.
• Technical understanding of synchronised control systems.
• Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Manual handling experience and working with automatic refuelling systems.
• Excellent communication skills with a flexible, adaptable approach to working.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure without supervision and as a team
• Ability to interact well with superiors and subordinates professionally.
