    Humanitarian Response Officer

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Program Design and Implementation:
      • Develop and manage humanitarian programs and projects in line with organizational goals and donor requirements.
      • Conduct needs assessments to identify and prioritize the needs of affected communities.
      • Collaborate with local partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to ensure program relevance and effectiveness.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation:
      • Establish and oversee monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track program progress and impact.
      • Prepare regular reports and documentation on program activities, challenges, and outcomes.
      • Utilize data and feedback to make informed decisions and improvements to program strategies.
    • Coordination and Communication:
      • Liaise with government agencies, international organizations, and local NGOs to ensure coordinated and efficient delivery of aid.
      • Represent HOPE at meetings, conferences, and forums related to humanitarian issues.
      • Provide technical support and capacity-building to local partners and field staff.
    • Resource Management:
      • Assist in the development of project budgets, ensuring effective and transparent use of resources.
      • Monitor financial expenditures and procurement processes in accordance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
    • Advocacy and Reporting:
      • Advocate for the needs of affected populations and raise awareness of humanitarian issues.
      • Prepare and present reports to donors, stakeholders, and senior management on program activities and impact.

    Qualifications:

    • Education and Experience:
      • Bachelor’s degree or HND in international development, humanitarian studies, social work, social sciences, or a related field.
      • Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian programming, project management, or a related role.
    • Skills and Abilities:
      • Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, standards, and best practices.
      • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate complex programs.
      • Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and under challenging conditions.
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Language and Communication:
      • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages (e.g. Hausa and Kanuri) is an asset.
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
