    Infographics and Communication Specialist

    About the Project

    • The Public Health Information Surveillance Solutions and Systems (PHIS3) project is a US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded initiative aimed at strengthening systems to enhance HIV service delivery and other public health interventions.
    • Through continuous quality improvement, monitoring and evaluation, surveillance, health informatics, and laboratory quality management, PHIS3 collaborates with national and sub-national health managers, health workers, and other stakeholders to improve data harmonization and track national health trends.

    Position Summary

    • PHIS3 seeks an Infographics and Communication Specialist to transform complex data into engaging and easy-to-understand visual content.
    • The successful candidate will work closely with the Health Informatics team and other stakeholders to develop infographics, reports, and communication materials that effectively convey the impact of PHIS3’s initiatives.
    • This role requires a creative individual with a strong background in graphic design, data visualization, and communication.
    • The individual should also have skills in communications and should be able to manage the Social Media platforms.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Develop high-quality infographics, presentations, and reports that visually communicate complex data and findings.
    • Collaborate with data analysts, researchers, and program staff to understand and interpret data for visual representation.
    • Design and produce visual content for various communication channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, and publications.
    • Ensure consistency and adherence to branding guidelines in all visual materials.
    • Translate technical information and data into clear, concise, and visually appealing formats.
    • Support the development and implementation of communication strategies to promote PHIS3’s projects and initiatives.
    • Manage the organization’s Communication platforms
    • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback to continuously improve visual content.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data visualization and graphic design.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Media Arts, or a related field.
    • At least 3 years of experience in graphic design, data visualization, or a related role.
    • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
    • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in infographics and data visualization.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex information visually.
    • Experience working with health data or in a public health setting is a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in a related field.
    • Experience with video editing and animation software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, affinity publisher).
    • Good mastery of English Language,
    • Good communication skills
    • Knowledge of web design and development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
    • Familiarity with public health terminologies and concepts.
