About Company: Our client is a leading investment organization with strong focus in property development. Our client has remained a major player in the real estate investment sector and has such influenced how the industry is run in Nigeria.

Job Summary: We are looking to hire a junior level financial accountant to assist in monitoring the financial wellbeing of the organization in collaboration with the finance team. This will include budgeting, managing tax payments, and so on.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.
• Support the finance team in maintaining corporate finance.
• Analyze financial data and prepare balance sheets.
• Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries.
• Coordinate with the management and staff to prepare budgets.
• Precisely perform daily reconciliations of cash, cheque and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.
• Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation.
• Prepare income tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
• Complete end of month close procedures.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field is essential.
• Professional certification or working towards it.
• 2-5 years of accounting work experience.
• Knowledge of SAGE is an advantage but not compulsory.
• Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting software packages.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the superb organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Must be a quick learner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Critical thinker with a high proficiency in math.
• Excellent report writing, communication and IT skills.
