    Marine Engineer

    Role Description

    • The safe and efficient operation of the processes and equipment and maintains continuous monitoring to ensure that the plant is operating within normal parameters and takes the appropriate action in the event of a process upset.
    • Ensuring that all subcontractors, from onshore maintenance, facilities or project group, activities are monitored for safe working practices and follows the safe system of work in the assigned area of responsibility.
    • Operate and maintain operation/equipment in accordance with approved practices, plans, programs, forecasts, contracts, and Government regulations.
    • Carrying out process isolations as described in the safe working practices and procedures and ensuring that all Company guidelines and regulatory requirements and procedures are strictly adhered to.
    • When delegated, is responsible for ensuring that all platform consumables and stocks items such as chemicals are maintained at optimum levels.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering
    • 2 to 6 years of experience in engineering within the oil & gas sector.
    • Marine Engineering knowledge
    • Maintenance & repair expertise
    • Experience in marine industry operations
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Trainings & Certifications:

    • Certification as a Ship’s Deck/ Engine Officer with relevant hydrocarbons experience preferably some time spent on a trading Oil Tanker.
    • MCA Deck/ Engine Officer Certificate of Competency, or equivalent
    • Minimum of Officer Of Watch Certification.
    • GDMSS Communication Certification.
    • Relevant experience should include centralized control room operations.
    • Experience in oil tanker cargo and ballast operations, control of ESD and Fire and Gas systems Initiation of Control Room Emergency Response procedures.
    • Experience in Floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels would be advantageous.
    • Training in Emergency Command and Control, supervisory experience and Oil and Gas production knowledge is desirable.
