    Modern Trade Accounts Executive

    Position Overview

    • The Modern Trade Accounts Executive is responsible for managing and developing relationships with modern trade customers, such as large retail chains, supermarkets, and hypermarkets.
    • This role focuses on maximizing sales, increasing market share, and achieving revenue targets within the modern trade channel.
    • The Modern Trade Accounts Executive collaborates with internal teams and coordinates activities to drive product visibility, availability, and profitability in the modern trade sector.

    Key Responsibilities
    Account Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with modern trade customers, acting as a key point of contact and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Understand customer needs, preferences, and market trends to tailor offerings and develop strategies that maximize sales and profitability.

    Sales and Revenue Generation:

    • Develop and execute sales plans and strategies to achieve revenue targets within the modern trade channel.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and secure agreements that drive sales volume and market share

    Promotional Planning and Execution:

    • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective promotional plans and campaigns for modern trade customers.
    • Coordinate with the merchandising team to ensure optimal product visibility and availability at the point of sale.
    • Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and make data-driven recommendations for future promotions.

    Forecasting and Demand Planning:

    • Analyze market data, sales trends, and customer demand to accurately forecast product needs and develop demand plans for modern trade accounts.
    • Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stock-outs or overstock situations.

    Category Management:

    • Conduct thorough market and competitor analysis to identify category growth opportunities within the modern trade sector.
    • Develop category strategies, assortment plans, and shelf optimization recommendations to increase market share and drive category growth.

    Pricing and Negotiation:

    • Develop pricing strategies and guidelines for modern trade accounts, taking into consideration market dynamics, customer margins, and company profitability targets.
    • Negotiate pricing agreements and promotions with customers to maximize sales while maintaining profitability.

    Relationship Building:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance, to align efforts and deliver value to modern trade customers.
    • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders within customer organizations, including buyers, category managers, and merchandisers.

    Reporting and Analysis:

    • Generate regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities within the modern trade channel.
    • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement, track progress against targets, and present findings and recommendations to management.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree / HND in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
    • Proven experience in Modern Trade Account Management or Key Account management, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry.
    • Strong understanding of Modern Trade dynamics, customer requirements, and industry trends.
    • Excellent sales and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving sales targets and building customer relationships.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and insights to drive business decisions.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop and implement sales and category management strategies.
    • Proficiency in using sales and data analysis tools, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
    • Results-oriented with a focus on delivering business objectives and driving revenue growth.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Technology savvy and eagerness to use technology to enhance personal performance.
