    Purchase Officer

    Job Overview:

    The Purchase Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for CAPEX (capital expenditures) and OPEX (operational expenditures) including factory machinery parts, automobile parts, IT gadgets, and consumables. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of relevant experience, a B.Sc. or HND in a related field, and be familiar with vendors in the South-West region of Nigeria. The role requires a proactive individual who is smart, ready to work in the field, and capable of contributing to our procurement efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the purchasing of factory machinery parts, automobile parts, IT gadgets, and consumables.
    • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Identify and establish relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers, particularly in the South-West region.
    • Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules to secure the best deals and maintain favorable relationships.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay updated on industry trends and pricing.
    • Analyze supplier performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
    • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Track orders and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
    • Inspect received goods and services to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
    • Address any discrepancies or issues with suppliers promptly.
    • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory levels.
    • Generate reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and savings.
    • Perform site visits and inspections as needed to ensure proper supplier performance and resolve any on-site issues.
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • B.Sc. or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
    • 4-6 years of experience in general purchasing, including CAPEX and OPEX, with a reputable manufacturing company.
    • Strong familiarity with vendors and suppliers in the South-West region.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment.
