Rig Mechanic at ICS Outsourcing Limited

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Perform routine maintenance controls of the mechanical equipment and devices of the rig and provide for preventive, routine and non -routine, maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines, pumps, compressors and drilling related equipment of the rig in accordance with requirement and superior instructions.
• Monitor and prevent oil spills from hydraulic operated equipment, power related equipment as well as drilling mechanical related equipment and repair the equipment immediately in accordance with superior instructions and planning.
• Ensure that all orders and instructions received verbally or in writing are fully understood and adhered to. Ensure that before any maintenance activity is started, a proper risk evaluation is carried out, precautions are taken, and the work permit is signed by the client or company.
• Be well-informed about all relevant work and safety procedures issued by the client and by the operator, applying them and promoting their implementation.
• Use compulsory protective equipment and be safety minded during day-to-day work.
• Attend safety meetings and conduct special safety meetings with mechanic crew whenever necessary.
• Carry out his duties according to the emergency preparedness action plan when needed.
• Promptly report any safety hazard, accident, near-miss accident and non-conformance through proper channels.
• Ensure good housekeeping at drill site working area.
• Maintain the inventory of mechanical spares and indent as per requirement in timely manner without effecting working of machine/drill rig.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge about safety precautions at drill site/mines and work in obeying HSE guidelines
• Must be a vocational or trade school graduate(automotive)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to read and understand parts and service manuals.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot simple engine and hydraulic problems.
• Must have at least ten years’ experience in drilling operations or similar field.
