    Risk Management Officer

    Our client, who is a major player in the financial services sector is currently looking to fill of Risk Management Officer

    Report To:                  Compliance, Risk &Control                        

    Job Family:                   Financial Service

    Main Purpose of job:

    • To partner with Management to ensure the institutionalization of the company’s Enterprise Risk
    • Management (ERM) framework
    • To manage the implementation of all aspects of the risk management function, including
    • development of processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks

    JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

    Strategic      

    • Work with the supervisor to ensure the institutionalization of the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework
    • Set clear expectations for the risk management function
    • Update and manage the company’s risk register

    Operational 

    • Proactively identify and assess inherent and emerging risks, including the impact of new processes, systems and business lines on the risk profile of the company
    • Monitor implementation of action plans to ensure risk mitigation efforts are proceeding as required
    • Be actively engaged in the process of setting risk measures and limits for the various business lines and monitoring their performance relative to risk-taking and limit adherence
    • Keep the Board and Management informed of significant changes to the company’s risk profile
    • Develop awareness of risk within the company embed a strong risk culture
    • Develop, communicate and enforce approved risk management policies and limits across the company
    • Ensure the development and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans
    • Drive incidence reporting across the company
    • Represent the organization to external stakeholders on risk related matters
    • All other tasks as may be assigned by Board and Management from time to time

    Skills/Competences

    Key Competencies and Experiences        

    • services industry, preferably in a risk
    • management, compliance, internal control or audit role
    • Possess good knowledge risk management processes and systems
    • Ability to observe and understand business processes
    • Ability to effectively interact with management, committees, auditors and regulators
    • Strong organization and follow up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines and commitments
    • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment and willing to adapt to change

    General Competencies    

    • Analytical and painstaking
    • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Good presentation skills
    • Good with the use of MS Office suite i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Requirement

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial
    • Relevant   professional qualifications such as ICAN; FCA or ACA, ACCA, CIBN; ACIB, PRMIA; PRM and GARP; FRM
    • Membership of Risk Managers Association or Nigeria (RIMAN) or Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP)
    • Any other local or international professional certification in accounting, finance, risk management or compliance
