    Food and Nutrition Specialist

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Food and Nutrition Specialist to lead the formulation of our products and oversee quality assurance during production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science, nutrition, and food safety, with hands-on experience in processing and product development. You will work closely with our production team to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and nutritional value.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and optimize formulations for cassava flour, Semovita, powdered pap, Garri, and yam flour.
    • Ensure products meet local regulatory and nutritional standards.
    • Implement and oversee food safety and quality assurance protocols (HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).
    • Conduct regular quality checks throughout the production process.
    • Improve the shelf-life and consistency of products while maintaining nutritional integrity.
    • Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to product quality.
    • Keep updated with trends in food science, nutrition, and processing technologies to drive innovation.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of food safety protocols and regulations.
    • Experience with product formulation and development in a food processing environment (experience with cassava, yam, and maize-based products is a plus).
    • Knowledge of food processing techniques (e.g., drying, fermentation, grinding).
    • Ability to design and implement quality assurance systems.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Passionate about food innovation and maintaining high-quality standards.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Certification in food safety (HACCP, ISO 22000, etc) (Nice to have).
    • Practical experience in food processing, especially in flour production.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to ensure quality in the production line.
