    Secondary Civic Education Teacher

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive Civic Education lessons that align with the school's curriculum and instructional guidelines.
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, active citizenship, and social responsibility.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including discussions, debates, case studies, and interactive activities, to promote student engagement and understanding.
    • Encourage students to analyze and discuss current events, local issues, and global challenges from a civic perspective.
    • Provide opportunities for students to participate in community service projects and engage in experiential learning that connects classroom concepts to real-life situations.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate civic education with other subjects.
    • Stay updated with current events, civic education resources, and pedagogical approaches to continuously enhance teaching methods and content knowledge.
    • Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and guardians to promote open communication and a positive school-home partnership.

    Requirements:

    • A strong practicing Spirit-filled Christian, with a deep commitment to Christian values and principles.
    • Bachelor's degree in Civic Education, Social Studies, Political Science, or a related field.
    • Teaching certification in Civic Education, Social Studies, or related discipline.
    • Proven experience teaching Civic Education or related subjects at the secondary school level.
    • In-depth knowledge of civic concepts, democratic principles, human rights, and social issues.
    • Passion for education and a genuine interest in inspiring students to become active and responsible citizens.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
    • Ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports academic growth and personal development.
    • Proficiency in integrating technology and multimedia resources into Civic Education instruction.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest pedagogical approaches and civic developments.
