    Secondary History Teacher

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and deliver engaging and comprehensive History lessons that align with the school's curriculum and instructional guidelines.
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, historical analysis, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives.
    • Teach a range of historical topics, such as ancient civilizations, world history, local history, social movements, political ideologies, and historical research methods.
    • Engage students in discussions and debates that encourage them to analyze primary and secondary sources, evaluate evidence, and develop their own interpretations.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including multimedia resources, simulations, group activities, and project-based learning, to enhance student understanding and engagement.
    • Encourage students to connect historical events to contemporary issues and develop a broader understanding of the world and its cultures.
    • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their historical inquiry and communication skills.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate History with other subjects and promote a holistic understanding of the world.
    • Stay updated with current historical research, technological advancements, and pedagogical approaches to continually enhance teaching methods and content knowledge.
    • Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and guardians to promote open communication and a positive school-home partnership.

    Requirements:

    • A strong practicing Spirit-filled Christian, with a deep commitment to Christian values and principles.
    • Bachelor's degree in History, Social Sciences, or a related field.
    • Teaching certification in History, Social Studies, or related discipline.
    • Proven experience teaching History or related subjects at the secondary school level.
    • In-depth knowledge and passion for history, with expertise in specific historical periods or regions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
    • Ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports academic growth and personal development.
    • Proficiency in integrating technology, primary sources, and multimedia resources into History instruction.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest historical research and pedagogical approaches.
