    Senior Legal and Compliance Officer

    Job Description

    Compliance Management:

    • Develop, implement, and monitor the organization’s compliance programs.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across all business operations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, ensuring the company complies with new or changing laws.
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting of compliance matters.

    Legal Advisory:

    • Provide legal advice and counsel to the organization on a broad range of legal and regulatory issues.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to minimize risks.
    • Ensure legal protections for the company’s intellectual property, employment matters, and contractual relationships.
    • Handle litigation and disputes, working with external legal counsel as necessary.

    Policy Development:

    • Develop and update internal policies, ensuring alignment with legal standards and corporate objectives.
    • Conduct regular training for employees on compliance-related topics (e.g., anti-corruption, data protection, and ethical practices).
    • Collaborate with departments to review procedures and policies to mitigate legal risks.

    Risk Management:

    • Identify potential legal and compliance risks within the organization and recommend corrective actions.
    • Establish and monitor controls to prevent or mitigate legal and compliance risks.
    • Lead internal investigations of compliance violations or potential legal issues.

    Requirements

    • 5-8 Years post-call experience.
    • 3 Years of Compliance experience.
    • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is an added advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
