    Technical Associate - HIV Testing Services

    Background

    • The Nigeria TBHIV Reach Integration & Impact Project (N-THRIP) is designed to ensure a coordinated and intensive effort to scale up the prevention, identification, and treatment of HIV in both general and key populations in Anambra state.
    • The focus will be on facility and community-based approaches to reach epidemic control, and in addition, ensure improvement in the coverage of pregnant women on ART as well as target KP and AGYW programs.
    • Hence, the consultant will support the implementation of the N-THRIP at Non-Enhanced Site Management facilities with other spoke sites to optimize HTS and scale testing across the state.

    Key Roles
    The services of the consultant will include but not limited to the following:

    • Provide technical assistance and support for program implementation on HIV case finding activities.
    • Provide, mentoring and training support to increase uptake, improve HIV diagnosis and expand HIV testing services.
    • Participate in contributing to regular HIV monitoring and assessment performance through evaluation and reporting.
    • Create effective communication strategies to generate awareness and decrease stigma linked with HIV testing.
    • Expedite collaboration between several sectors to boost the reach and effectiveness of HTS.
    • Oversee capacity-building activities to transfer skills, knowledge, and technology to the Government of Nigeria staff and stakeholders at the individual, facility, and create effective linkages between facility and community services, on HTS while applying WHO 5Cs on HTS.

    Recruitments

    • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, with 2 to 3 years post NYSC experience in HIV/AIDS programs.
    • Experience in developing designs, implementing, and managing HIV testing programs.
    • Extensive knowledge of different HIV testing methodologies, including index testing, self-testing, and confirmatory testing protocols.
    • Strong logical and problem-solving skills to alleviate challenges in program implementation and service delivery.
    • Ability to use key computing applications e g MS Office Suite etc and knowledge of different databases (DHIS or NMRS) is a plus.

    Technical Associate - AYP

    Background

    • The Nigeria TBHIV Reach Integration & Impact Project (N-THRIP) is designed to ensure a coordinated and intensive effort to scale up the prevention, identification, and treatment of HIV in both general and key populations in Anambra state.
    • The focus will be on facility and community-based approaches to reach epidemic control, and in addition, ensure improvement in the coverage of pregnant women on ART as well as target KP and AGYW programs.
    • Hence, the consultant will support the implementation AGYW related activities, support school and livelihood support interventions for CLHIV and their caregivers in the state.

    Key Roles
    The services of the consultant will include but not limited to the following:

    • Provide technical support to the Adolescents Girls Young Women component.
    • Develop design, implementation, and monitoring of sound technical strategies and interventions targeting AGYW and HIV Prevention as well as ensuring the integration of interventions with the other key program areas.
    • Provide Support for the delivery of preventive services to AGYW and scale up of prevention and other sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for AGYW interventions related to HIV Testing Services treatment, care, and support services for Adolescent Girls and Young Women.
    • Develop and support programs that create economic avenues for AGYW, such as vocational training, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.
    • Work with relevant staff to coordinate the implementation of facility-based programs in relation to clinical management of HIV/AIDS.
    • Oversee capacity-building activities to transfer skills, knowledge, and technology to the Government of Nigeria staff and stakeholders at the individual, facility, and levels to lead the HIV response and create effective linkages between facility and community services.
    • With guidance from the Cluster Lead, represent AHNI in meetings, discussions, and relevant forums on issues related to HIV/TB prevention, treatment, and care.

    Recruitments

    • Bachelor's Degree in related fields with 2 – 3 years’ post NYSC experience in HIV programming is required.
    • Experience implementing Adolescent, Girls and Young Women interventions will be an advantage
    • In-depth Knowledge in capacity building (training, mentoring, technical assistance provision)

    Technical Associate - PMTCT

    Job Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of PMTCT programs, ensuring that services are accurately integrated into maternal and child health services.
    • Provide guidance to healthcare providers and program staff on PMTCT protocols, including HIV testing, antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation, and early infant diagnosis.
    • Optimize HTS for pregnant and breastfeeding women at ANC, L&D, post-natal clinics.
    • Collaborate with NEPWHAN and other GF SRs to ensure linkage of HIV positive PBFW to treatment facilities.
    • Support uptake of early infant diagnosis for infants exposed to HIV (IEH) across health facilities in the state.
    • Develop comprehensive reports on PMTCT program performance, highlight successes, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement to stakeholders and donors.

    Job Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a MBBS / Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Public Health, with 2-3 years of proven experience in implementation of HIV programs.
    • Possession of a post graduate degree in a related field is an added advantage.
    • In-depth clinical experience in care of HIV infected adults, pregnant and breastfeeding women in resource limited setting.

    Technical Associate - TB / AHD

    Background

    • The Nigeria TBHIV Reach Integration & Impact Project (N-THRIP) is designed to ensure a coordinated and intensive effort to scale up the prevention, identification, and treatment of HIV in both general and key populations in Anambra state.
    • The focus will be on facility and community-based approaches to reach epidemic control, and in addition, ensure improvement in the coverage of pregnant women on ART as well as target KP and AGYW programs.
    • Hence, the consultant will work with general and key population to implement high quality TB/AHD intervention in the state & ensure quality activities to screen for presumptive TB cases.

    Responsibilities
    The services of the consultant will include but not limited to the following:

    • Provide professional clinical guidance on the management of TB and advanced HIV disease for diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
    • Lead efforts in scaling up TB preventive therapy (TPT) and AHD care services, which includes the management of opportunistic infections (OIs) and the use of diagnostic tools.
    • Provide technical support in integrating AHD Screening and point of care diagnosis
    • Develop and facilitate client-focused approaches, peer support strategies, improving treatment adherence and retention.
    • Develop strategies for TB/HIV screening and case finding
    • Ensure Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) is administered to PLHIV to protect them from the likelihood of being infected with TB
    • Train clinical staff and provide skilled technical assistance to improve their ability in managing TB and AHD cases effectively.
    • Work with relevant staff to coordinate the implementation of facility-based programs in relation to clinical management of HIV/AIDS.
    • Oversee capacity-building activities to transfer skills, knowledge, and technology to the Government of Nigeria staff and stakeholders at the individual, facility, and levels to lead the HIV response and create effective linkages between facility and community services.
    • Facilitate the clinical assessment of all patients diagnosed with HIV and ensure same-day commencement of treatment for eligible patients.
    • Facilitate diagnosis of advanced HIV disease and linkage to the appropriate treatment services.

    Requirements

    • MBBS, BPharm with 2 to 3 years post NYSC experience in clinical management of HIV/TB, and AHD.
    • Experience with HIV/TB  monitoring, logistics and commodity management is an added advantage.
    • Excellent ability to communicate and maintain productive relations with the team; resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast changing and challenging environment.
    • Ability to use key computing applications e g MS Office Suite etc and knowledge of different databases (DHIS or NMRS) is a plus.
