    Technical Sales Manager

    About the job

    • The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the growth and sales of our solar brand in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector. This role involves promoting our solar products globally, building relationships with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) customers, and ensuring regular supply and sales of solar panels and related products to local markets.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to promote and sell solar products, with a primary focus on PV solutions, in both local and international markets.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, including EPC contractors, C&I project developers, and other stakeholders in the solar industry.
    • Identify new business opportunities and provide technical expertise to customers, addressing their needs and offering suitable solar solutions.
    • Conduct regular visits to clients and prospective customers to present products, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and technical teams to develop promotional materials, product presentations, and marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and market share.
    • Provide feedback to the product development team regarding market needs, product performance, and competitive analysis.
    • Manage the sales pipeline, track sales metrics, and report on sales activities and results.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and competitors to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Any other duties assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in technical sales with a focus on solar PV products, preferably in the C&I sector.
    • Proven track record of successfully selling solar panels and related products locally and internationally.
    • Strong network of contacts within the EPC industry and experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders.

    COMPETENCY AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS 

    • Experience in conducting market research and competitive analysis.
    • Familiarity with the latest solar technologies and trends in the renewable energy sector.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools.
    • In-depth knowledge of PV technologies, solar products, and the renewable energy market.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and achieve sales targets.

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

    • Sales Revenue and Growth: Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for solar products.
    • New Customer Acquisition: Number of new EPC customers, C&I clients, and project developers acquired within a given period.
    • Customer Retention Rate: Percentage of customers retained over a period. 
    • Sales Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads or opportunities converted into sales.
    • Product Promotion and Brand Awareness: Increase in the market share of the company’s solar products, Improvement in brand visibility and awareness as measured through surveys or digital analytics, Number of trade shows, webinars, or marketing events attended or led.
    • Technical Expertise and Product Knowledge: Participation in training sessions and certifications related to solar PV products and technology and number of technical product demonstrations or workshops conducted for customers.
    • Number of Partnerships Established: New partnerships with EPCs, distributors, and other stakeholders.
    • Compliance and Reporting: On-time submission of sales reports, forecasts, and other required documentation and adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal sales protocols.
