    Automation Engineer

    Job Summary & Purpose

    • We are currently sourcing for Automation Engineer to join our team and support the strategic roadmap of our Operations Department.
    • The responsibilities of this role include carrying out installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of OEM equipment and machinery at the customers’ facility to ensure optimum performance of equipment and little or no downtime.
    • To be successful in this role, you should have solid installation, technical, automation, and electrical engineering skills and be familiar with the production and manufacturing industry, specifically food and beverage.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop, analyse, and review AutoCAD, PLC, HMI/SCADA programs using functional design specifications and P&ID.
    • Design and install a new automation infrastructure for machineries, production line and plant.
    • Lead start-up and commissioning of small or large projects.
    • Assist on production line development to acquire cycle times needed, electrical cost estimates to develop controls on new machines built from conceptual stages.
    • Project implementation, programming, troubleshooting variable frequency drives, and DC Systems using TIA Portal application.
    • Write manual documentation to include sequence of operation and troubleshooting sections.
    • PLC, HMI/SCADA knowledge Code Development for Dairy & Beverages Processing Plants & Cement.
    • Participate in or lead HAZOP studies, FAT, risk analyses and risk mitigation as it affects production output and humans.
    • Monitoring equipment and process parameters, planning upgrades and maintenance, and developing and implementing changes that improve uptime and output quality.
    • Ensure all Company’s staff and contractors obey safety rules and regulations and make use of applicable PPE always to reduce chances of incidents/accidents.

    Education/ Professional Qualifications

    • A graduate Degree in Engineering preferably Electrical & Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics
    • Familiarity with automation and troubleshooting methods and practices.
    • Additional certification in automation or engineering from an accredited institute will be an advantage.

    Experience:

    • 3 - 4 years of proven work experience specifically in manufacturing, food, and beverage industry

    Key Skills & Competencies:
    High/expert proficiency and solid understanding of computer programming and software development in the following areas:

    • Siemens - (Step 5, Step 7 & TIA Portal), VBA
    • HMI - (Siemens: ProTool, WinCC Flexible, WinCC 7.4)
    • SCADA - (Siemens: WinCC, Braumat, Intouch Wonderware)
    • Industrial networks (MPI, Profibus, Profinet -Ethernet, AS-i bus, DH +, DH485, DeviceNet, Scalance)
    • Safety - (Siemens: Step 7 distributed safety, Step 7 safety advanced
    • Remote Access (eWON, mbNET)
    • Variable Speed Drives - (Siemens - Micromaster, Micromaster Vector; Danfoss
    • VLT5000, VLT2800, FC302, ABB, etc)
    • MS Office - Words/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/ Project/Visio
    • Practical Autocad and ePlan skills
    • Proven experience in PLC and HMI Software development from conceptualization, design, and simulation.
    • High proficiency in troubleshooting equipment problems and performing complex system tests
    • Proof of hands-on installation and commissioning experience in electrical and industrial process automation.
    • Project management knowledge relative to scope, time, quality, and cost.
    • Instrumentation, calibration, and component selection.

    Field Service Engineer

    Job Summary & Purpose

    • We are currently sourcing for Field Service Engineers to join our team and support the day-to-day activities of our Operations Department.
    • The responsibilities of this role include carrying out the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of OEM plant and machinery at the customers’ facility to ensure optimum performance of equipment and little or no downtime.
    • To be successful in this role, you should have solid installation, technical, automation, and electrical engineering skills and be familiar with the production and manufacturing industry, specifically food and beverage.
    • Ultimately, you will ensure all operational activities result in customer satisfaction for both new and existing clients, as well as increased revenue for the Organisation.

    Responsibilities

    • Installation of new OEM machinery and equipment
    • Attend to call outs & interventions
    • Carry out planned preventive maintenance & overhauls
    • Execute OEM service level agreement
    • Participate in the OEM project execution
    • Carry out plant & machinery survey
    • Develop junior service engineers and technicians for better service delivery
    • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment with zero incidence
    • Ensure proper tools and database management
    • Preparation and submission of quality report of service activity as required

    Education/ Professional Qualifications

    • A graduate Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

    Experience:

    • At least 3 years of proven work experience in installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting, preferably in FMCG, Food & Beverage, manufacturing, or engineering solutions industry.
    • Familiarity with automation and troubleshooting methods and practises
    • Intermediate or advanced engineering certification is an added advantage

    • MS Office proficiency – Words/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Projects

    Mechatronics Technician

    Reports To: Head, Project Services

    Job Summary & Purpose

    • We are currently sourcing for a Mechatronics Technician to join our team and support the strategic roadmap of our Operations Department.
    • The responsibilities of this role include carrying out maintenance, mechanical repair, machine repair, and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings of assigned engineering projects at the customers’ facility to ensure optimum performance of equipment and little or no downtime.
    • To be successful in this role, you should have solid field equipment and pipeworks installation, construction, electrical and mechanical skills and be familiar with mechanical and electrical components required in the manufacturing industry or industrial maintenance.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the Project Engineers.
    • Carry out feasibility studies of mechanical related projects.
    • Site supervision of mechanical projects.
    • Manage workshop equipment and tools.
    • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment
    • Performs preventive maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and documents maintenance concerns/resolutions in an electronic database; providing action plans and status reports as needed
    • Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates appropriately.
    • Perform machine shop work operating various machines such as drill presses, grinders, MIG/TIG/stick welders, plasma torches, cutting equipment (i.e., chop saw), pneumatic tools and electric/manual hand tools
    • Responsible for proper care/cleaning of all project tools, parts, materials, and work area.

    Education / Professional Qualifications

    • OND, NABTEB and Trade Test in Mechatronics, Mechanical / Production Engineering or other relevant courses

    Experience:

    • At least 3 years of proven work experience as a maintenance, project or installation technician in production, industrial maintenance, or construction environment
    • Functional knowledge of mechanical components and implementation methods and practises

    Key Skills & Competencies:

    • MS Office proficiency – Words / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook / Projects
    • Intermediate proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and other mechanical engineering software applications (Mathcad, etc.)

    Project Engineer

    Reports to: Head, Project Services.

    Job Summary & Purpose

    • We are currently sourcing for a Project Engineer to join our team and support the strategic roadmap of our Operations Department.
    • The responsibilities of this role include carrying out project preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects at the customers’ facility to ensure optimum performance of equipment and little or no downtime.
    • To be successful in this role, you should have solid project management, electrical and mechanical skills and be familiar with the production and manufacturing industry, specifically food and beverage.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
    • Plan and lead pre-startup checks on completed projects at customer sites, manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) programs, establish procedures for installation post startup performance testing to ensure formal customer acceptance.
    • Analyse projects, perform technical calculations, create project designs, and models that meet projects requirements.
    • Develop project schedule, determine manpower requirement, liaise with other department for all necessary input/output, and monitor projects to ensure on time completion.
    • Define a comprehensive list of project equipment, materials, and consumables to be procured from external suppliers and coordinate logistic support to ensure all items are delivered to site timely and safely.
    • Develop recommended spare parts list for the customers’ plant on a pre and post installation and commissioning schedule.
    • Manage project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure implementation is in accordance with company standard.
    • Control and monitor project expenditures including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
    • Lead onsite and offsite stakeholders’ meetings by reviewing project progress, gaps, bottlenecks and changes while ensuring timely communication and documentation of same by following the change control process.
    • Ensure all employees and contractors obey safety rules and regulations and make use of applicable PPE always to reduce chances of incidents/accidents.
    • Lead risk assessment program for each project with the project team and other stakeholders to identify and provide countermeasures to mitigate against risk(s) identified.
    • Recommend and implement training and post installation support plans to customers.
    • Maintain training matrix for team members.

    Education / Professional Qualifications

    • A graduate Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Production Engineering or relevant course
    • Membership of related professional bodies would be an advantage (COREN, NSE, PMI, etc.)
    • At least 3 years of proven work experience as a project engineer, installation engineer in the FMCG, Food & Beverage or Construction industry
    • Familiarity with project management, electrical/mechanical design and implementation methods and practises

    Key Skills & Competencies:

    • MS Office proficiency – Words / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook / Projects
    • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, E-Plan, and other engineering software applications (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
