    Human Resources Assistant

    Location: Damasak, Borno State

    Job Summary

    • The Human Resource Assistant will be based in Damasak, Borno state and work under the supervision of the Human Resource Officer.
    • The Human Resource Assistant will provide support to the Human Resource Department in developing and maintaining a filing system as well as maintaining office policies and procedures. He/she will track and maintain all purchase requests made at the base.
    • The Human Resource Assistant will also maintain a proper record of all training and performance in the base.

    Requirements
    The successful candidate will;

    • Have a bachelor’s degree in fields related to HR, Administration and Management or equivalent year of experience with a minimum of 1 year experience working in HR/administrative support positions.

    Public Health Promotion (PHP) Assistant

    Job Summary

    • The Public Health Promotion (PHP) Assistant will be based in Nangere, Yobe State and work under the supervision of the Public Health Promotion Officer.

    The Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Assistant

    Job Summary

    The Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Assistant will be based in Damasak, Borno state and work under the supervision of the Infant and Young Child Feeding Officer. The IYCF Assistant will support the IYCF Officer in conducting rapid/detailed assessment of infant and young child feeding practices in mothers/care givers at mobile clinics.     Nutrition Officer

    Job Summary

    The Nutrition officer will be based in Damasak, Borno State and will work under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Deputy Project Manager. He/she will play a key role in the implementation of community health groups (CHGs) within the community for each health facility targeted by the CMAM component. He/she will conduct health capacity assessments and also ensure the functionality and linkage between community nutritional screening and health facilities.The Nutrition Officer is also required to represent Action Against Hunger program within the communities.

    • Have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Nutrition, Nursing or related field. Higher level Degree preferred.

    Nutrition Deputy Project Manager

    Job Summary

    The Nutrition Deputy Project Manager will be based in Damasak, Borno State and report to the Nutrition Project Manager. The Nutrition Deputy Project Manager will be responsible for leading and supervising nutrition and health activities at all stages of the project management cycle. He/she is also responsible for accomplishing the program objectives and outcomes within the contextual constraints in coordination and synergy with other Deputy Project Managers. He/she will ensure the completion of all defined activities by the Nutrition and Health team while adhering to internal standards and contractual obligations.

    The Nutrition DPM also has responsibilities regarding the capacity building of staff; humanitarian needs identification through needs assessments, monitoring of evolving situation; context analysis to contribute to the development of future programs and internal coordination.

    The successful candidate will;

    • A minimum of bachelor's degree in Medicine ,Pharmacy or Public Health Degree in a field related to Nutrition & Health and or training/courses specific to Nutrition and Health in emergency contexts.
    • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working with CMAM, IYCF and other health related programs.
    • Be Fluent in English (verbal and written).
    • Human resource management experience, leadership and motivation/training skills
    • Have excellent organization skills, attention to detail, time management and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Nutrition Project Manager

    Job Summary

    The Nutrition Project Manager will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report to the Field Coordinator. The Nutrition Project Manager will focus on contributing to the definition and implementation of Action Against Hunger policies, positioning and strategies of health and nutrition department in the mission. He/she will manage, supervise and train the program team. This is a technical specialist position expected to support technical implementation of Action Against Hunger’s nutrition & health program in Yobe. The role will involve supporting health facilities clinics as well as basic health care and nutritional treatment. The Nutrition Project Manager will be the focal point in providing technical support and recommendations on program implementation at all stages of the project cycle and ensuring quality of services delivered, ensuring compliance with Action Against Hunger protocols and national guidelines. He/she will work closely with the Grant manager and other sector managers (e.g. FSL, WASH, M&E etc.) to ensure project objectives are achieved; as well as with the Logistics, HR, and Finance departments when required. 

    The Successful Candidate Will;

    • Have at least a degree in Health/Nutrition related field with experience in emergency health and nutrition intervention. A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
    • Have effective organisational skills to represent the mission at various level.
    • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in managing health and nutrition in the humanitarian sector including proposal writing, project budget management, reporting and training.
    • Be disciplined and able to work and arrive at decisions independently and with less supervision.
    • Possess excellent written and verbal skills in English including ability to use Microsoft office packages.
    • Be willing and able to travel regularly to field sites and monitor activities.

    Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Deputy Project Manager

    Job Summary

    The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Deputy Project Manager will be based in Damasak, Borno State and work under the direct supervision of the WASH Project Manager. The WASH Deputy Project Manager will work closely with the WASH Project Manager in implementing integrated Action Against Hunger WASH project activities in compliance with donor regulations. The responsibilities include but are not limited to; Identification & formulation of WASH projects and Action Against Hunger Nigeria mission strategy. Developing proper monitoring, evaluation and reporting of projects including staffs management and capacity building. Establishing appropriate checks and quality control of WASH construction works. Participate in WASH coordination meeting held at local government and state levels.

    The Successful Candidate Will;

    • Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Public Health/ in a field related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. Additional training courses specific to WASH in development contexts (such as Bioforce Institute graduates), and/or Project Management professional certifications strongly preferred.
    • Have minimum of 2 years relevant working experience, in a WASH management/supervisory capacity.
    • Have strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
    • Have excellent oral and written skills and computer skills.
    • Be able to work independently, multitask and show initiative. Strong leadership, communication, and management skills are essential.

    WASH Technical Officer

    Job Summary

    The WASH Technical Officer be based in Damasak, Borno State and will work under the leadership and guidance of the WASH Deputy Project Manager. He/she will be provide professional technical contribution to drilling and construction of the WASH project activities within the framework of the emergency response program in Northeast, Nigeria. The panel of activities will include; overall supervision of water and sanitation construction activities including preparing technical design and bills of quantities, training and building the capacity of staffs and partners as well as coordinating with internal staff and local stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
