    Human Resources Officer

    Sales / Inventory Accountant

    Details

    • Reconciliation and effective management of inventory forms the core of inventory officer responsibilities.
    • The inventory officer is primarily responsible for handling the material management responsibilities that include acquisition of the material, merchandise, items, etc., and its proper distribution.
    • The inventory officer may also be referred as the purchasing or inventory manager.
    • The purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate the activities of those engaged in inventory management and to ensure that optimum levels of inventory is maintained and that it is at par with quality standards.
    • He/she is also responsible for keeping a track of the inventory records and making sure that it is accurate.

    Responsibilities

    • Developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances
    • Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
    • Verifying accurate standard costs
    • Monitoring inventory transactions
    • Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger
    • Preparing monthly journal entries as needed
    • Special projects as required

    Duties

    • They must understand different types of inventory methods--such as the average cost method; last-in, first-out (LIFO); and first-in, first-out (FIFO)--and assist in choosing the best method for the company. An inventory accountant also assists in organizing physical inventory counts.  The accountant oversees this entire process and ensures that it is done efficiently and accurately.

    Must Have

    • A minimum of 2 and half years experience as an Inventory or Cost Accountant.
    • Relating Bachelor’s Degree is required.
    • Proficient in MS Excel.
    • Profound analytical skills
    • Computing skills; above intermediate level.
    • Critical Analytical skill.
    • Spreadsheet software (Excel)
    • Accounting software and Enterprise resource planning software
