Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver internal audits of determined business area or department
• Prepare reports of audit findings and make recommendations to the business
• Perform and control the full audit cycle, including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
• Assess the suitability of current internal controls, making suggestions for improvements where needed
• Ensure the business complies with all relevant policies, industry regulations, and government legislation
• Liaise with and advise senior management on internal audit issues
• Provide support to the wider financial team on additional projects
• Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
• Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
• Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s interventions
• Maintain open communication with management
• Prepares drafts of audits or review reports, which include the development of clear, constructive, and actionable recommendations to address risks identified.

Requirements:

• 5yrs+ experience as an Internal Auditor in the Manufacturing sector
• Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations
• Proactive, energetic, and self-motivated with the ability to drive a project from conception through to completion
• ICAN certified or recognised professional bodies is an added advantage 
• BSC/HND in Accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of OHS policies and programs
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics
• Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes andhandle worker’s compensation claims
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and skills

• 1 or 2 years of proven experience as a safety officer
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
• Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Diligent with great attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
• BSc/BA in safety management, engineering or relevant field is preferred
