    Design Project Manager (Expatriate)

    Job Description

    • Our client is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction operations in Lagos.

    Job Objective

    • In the role of Design Project Manager, you will oversee the translation of project concepts into physical structures, ensuring strict adherence to quality, timeline, and budgetary requirements within the civil construction domain.

    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Planning and Execution of Design Works:

    • Lead the planning, review, and execution of design processes for civil construction projects.
    • Establish and manage design project schedules, monitor budgets, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality drawings.

    Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Collaborate with Engineers to create technically sound drawings that meet project specifications and standards.
    • Coordinate with various teams to streamline project specifications and ensure efficient execution of design plans.

    Quality Assurance and Risk Management:

    • Conduct site inspections to ensure designs are faithfully executed and meet quality standards.
    • Identify and address potential issues swiftly, implementing robust contingency plans.

    Creative Direction and Client Liaison:

    • Provide creative direction and feedback to exceed client expectations.
    • Represent the company while engaging with clients and professional teams.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain detailed documentation of design processes and project progress.
    • Generate reports highlighting milestones and addressing challenges.

    Academic Qualifications and work experience

    • Hold a University Degree in Architecture, Design and Construction Management or a relevant discipline.
    • MBA and MSc in relevant field is an advantage.
    • Hold relevant professional certifications in Civil Engineering, Design, or Construction Management, demonstrating your commitment to excellence and mastery in the civil construction domain.
    • 10 - 15 years relevant work experience.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor (Expatriate)

    Job Description

    • Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction operations in Lagos.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviewing construction plans and formulating quantity requirements.
    • Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, along with contracts to secure optimal deals.
    • Collaborating with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Generating reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and related documents.
    • Crafting performance reports and scopes and quantities for subcontracted works.
    • Advising managers and clients on enhancement strategies.
    • Monitoring materials and replenishing supplies as needed.
    • Documenting design changes and updating budgets accordingly.
    • Establishing and nurturing professional relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
    • Coordinating and aligning valuated works with client representatives.
    • Overseeing and training local QS personnel.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Qualified Civil Engineer/Quantity Surveyor.
    • A decade of professional experience in a similar senior position.
    • Previous experience in construction estimating or finance is advantageous.
    • Profound understanding of construction, particularly in large-scale projects like infrastructure.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and strategic capabilities.
    • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
    • Prior exposure to emerging/African markets is a bonus.
    • Fluency in both written and spoken English.

    Site Manager (Expatriate)

    Job Objective

    • The Site Manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning, execution, and closing of construction projects. Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
    • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets or exceeds specifications and standards.
    • Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel.
    • Prepare and manage project budgets. Track expenses and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
    • Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Address any issues or concerns promptly.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
    • Ensure all activities comply with local regulations, building codes, and environmental guidelines.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site management for civil construction projects.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
    • Proficient in using construction management software and tools.
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in urban environments.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian construction standards and practices.
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
