    Manager, Utility

    DUTIES: 

    • Manage overall functions & staff of power house, electrical/gas and water treatment sections.
    • Oversee functioning of main generators and switchgear in campus and ensure they are maintained at peak performance in order to provide backup power within 30 seconds of main power failure at all times.
    • Monitor operation of high voltage switchgear and changeover switches and repair or replace as needed.
    • Place order for spare parts or service needed for the generators, switchgear, transformers, etc.
    • Monitor the incoming high voltage power and underground power lines in campus and call the electric company to repair or replace damaged power lines or insulators, oversee and verify electricity meter readings every month.
    • Maintain very good contacts with all officials of the electricity company, especially the emergency calls out team.
    • Supervise the upkeep of all electric appliances, equipment, fixtures in labs, offices and field houses (plastic houses, green houses) residences and also street lights.
    • Monitor functioning of generators in IGH Lagos, including HV and LV (high and Low voltage) lines.
    • Manage the main water supply system including pumps at main dam and oversee the treatment and purification at the treatment plant.
    • Prepare monthly chargeback statements.
    • Prepare quarterly report of work done by the sections.
    • Maintenance of swimming pool and sewage treatment plants.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

    QUALIFICATION:

    • BSc/HND in Electrical Engineering or any other related field with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment. Possession of relevant higher qualifications will be an added advantage. Also, membership of Council of registered engineering (COREN) is required.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Have excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
    • Have good time management and communication skills.
    • Have Wide range of experience in handling heavy equipment including generators.

    Construction Manager

    DUTIES: 

    • Lead and coordinate overall functions & staff of Construction including plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting and quantity surveying sections.
    • Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors and clients.
    • Supervise and develop staff to deliver services in an efficient and effective manner.
    • Place order for materials needed for construction projects, etc.
    • Manage a large housing estate of houses/ apartments on campus.
    • Prepare work schedules and outline work assignments.
    • Assist in preparing technical feasibility studies and cost estimates on new projects.
    • Oversee construction projects and liaise on infrastructure, equipment, and cost estimates on new projects.
    • Manage resources such as materials, tools, and manpower efficiently.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
    • Prepare monthly chargeback statements.
    • Prepare quarterly report of work done by the sections.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

    Senior Carpenter

    DUTIES: 

    • Assist in providing new design of furniture.
    • Assist in regular work at the carpentry workshop.
    • Repair/refurbish laboratory, offices and housing furniture as may be required.
    • Assist the carpentry superintendent to supervise staff.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

    QUALIFICATION:

    • National diploma in Civil Engineering, Carpentry and Woodwork or any other related field with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Have wide range of experience in handling carpentry works.
    • Have good communication skills.
