    PLC Specialist (Triconex) M/F

    Job description

    SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a PLC Specialist (Triconex) to join its work force in Nigeria.

    • Direct responsibility for the maintenance, operation and configuration of the hardware and software of the Akpo Safety Instrumented System (Schneider Electric Triconex System) subsystem of the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS).
    • Partial responsibility for the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and associated devices of all Packages within the AKPO Industrial Information System (SII).
    • Maintain, operate and perform routine tasks on the Process Safety System (PSS), Fire and Gas System (FGS) and Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) of the Triconex Safety Instrumented System.
    • Apply and manage maintenance inhibitions in the systems as requested, directed and controlled by COMPANY rules and procedures. Register and maintain all such inhibitions on the AKPO Inhibition Tool database as par COMPANY rules.
    • Prepare with the ICSS Administrator preventive and corrective actions and modifications of the Control Systems under his responsibility.
    • Manage and document in technical reports, interventions using the CMIMS and work packs provided by the planning team.
    • Follow up the parameter values and alarms in the concerned systems under his responsibility and perform trouble shooting if required.
    • Maintain an accurate and auditable log of all system faults and inhibits (Short term and long term).
    • Identify, in the preparatory stage of maintenance works, any sensitive operation and ensure that a proper assessment of the risks involved is carried out beforehand.
    • Review and assure that all Software Modifications and corrective actions are validated by COMPANY and all impacted documentations are updated after implementation.

    Profile

    Profile Required

    • Knowledge of the oil and gas treatment process, installations and equipment.
    • Advanced knowledge and skill in Schneider's Triconex Safety Instrumented Systems.
    • Knowledge of general instrumentation concepts, field devices (sensors and final elements), instrument loops, etc.
    • Awareness of Emerson's DeltaV Process Control System, Siemens' SIMATIC Industrial Automation Systems and Allen Bradley's ControlLogix System is an added advantage.

    ICSS & Instrumentation Lead (M/F) M/F

    Job description

    SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a ICSS & Instrumentation Lead to join its work force in Nigeria.

    ICSS /Instrumentation Lead shall be fully responsible for the management, supervision control and coordination of ICSS and Instrumentation contract aspects of the basic engineering and detailed engineering studies carried out by the respective contractors.

    • Development and review of Instrument and ICSS specifications and all related deliverables
    • Ensure engineering is performed in line with the project scope of requirements, company general specifications & procedures, and international codes & company standards within agreed quality, schedule and cost.
    • Coordinate with corporate TEC specialists and prepare derogation requests to company general specifications when required.
    • Review, comment and approve all ICSS & Instrumentation basic and detailed engineering documents including incorporation of required vendor data.
    • Ensure the update and development of all philosophies, specifications, data sheets and drawings based on solid design knowledge of offshore oil & gas processing facilities, and with respect to EGINA FPSO.
    • Ensure that health, safety, and environmental issues are taken into consideration during the design.
    • Ensure that the engineering contractor carries out his work to the required level of quality and participate effectively in company design quality audits.
    • Prepare responses to engineering contractor technical queries or derogation requests.
    • Manage interface with other parts of the project regarding ICSS/Instrument matters including Safety, UFR, SPS, Field operations, Commissioning, Quality and participate in coordination meetings and ensure all interface issues related to ICSS & Instrumentation package are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Manage and regularly report contractor progress & resources to ensure that deliverables are issued in a timely manner and work is completed within budget.
    • Manage with review of change orders, planning constraints, etc.
      The job holder shall be the focal point for the preparation of company documentation associated with both basic engineering and EPC phases and shall also take a lead role for vendor clarifications and recommendations to award in conjunction with corporate specialists.
      It is anticipated that the role will carry over into the detailed design phase.
    • Manage and guide the ICSS and instrumentation team in achieving the task and target set-up for the team and desired results as set-out by Project Management Team.
    • Interface effectively with the Contractors tasked to execute the ICSS and Instrumentation design, procurement, assembly, testing and ensure timely delivery of the same to the designated work locations. Able to manage the Nigerian Content scope effectively and ensure it delivered within agreed timeline, quality and cost.
    • Ensure excellent working relationship with all key stakeholders.

    Profile

    Profile Required

    • Education: Must be Degree qualified instrument engineer or equivalent
      Professional experience: Minimum 18 years worked in the oil & gas (preferably offshore) industry with previous emphasis on FEED, detailed engineering, and project task force related work.
    • Advantageous to have work experience on previous FPSO projects.
    • Highly skilled in Instrumentation and ICSS, technical and contractual matters.
    • Skilled in communication, verbal and written.
    • People management skill.

    Pre-com/commissioning Engineer (M/F) M/F

    Job description

    SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a Pre-com/commissioning Engineer to join its work force in Nigeria.

    The job holder will be required to:

    • Be the focal point involved in the definition and preparation of the precom & commissioning activities related to the SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities.
      Finalize the Exhibits SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities contracts to ensure the Precom & Commissioning requirements are captured. 
    • Ensure consistency of all Precom & Commissioning deliverables incorporated in the CFT’s.
    • Identify and address all interface issues with other entities for all systems precom & commissioning activities.
    • Ensure that the SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities contractors perform all pre-commissioning and commissioning in strict accordance with the OPERCOM methodology.
    • Ensure that the ICAPS database is populated correctly, and that the database provides an accurate reporting tool for all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
    • Development of the Precom & Commissioning Methods and Strategies.
    • Ensure SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities team inspectors are fully briefed on the application of the OPERCOM scope of testing and recording.
    • Ensure coherence between OPERCOM testing requirements and the SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities contractors.
    • Inspection and testing procedures/plan (ITP). Approve any use of Contractor ITP in preference to OPERCOM/ICAPS requirements.
      Provision of manpower estimates and mobilization schedule for pre-com and commissioning activities at SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities managed sites.
    • Manage the preparation of pre-commissioning/commissioning procedures and reporting tools (including technical database, planning, punch list control).
    • Ensure satisfactory definition of all SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities systems pre-commissioning and commissioning scope and boundary limits within the sub-systems.
    • Follow up and review the contractor’s preparation for pre-commissioning and commissioning scope for both onshore and offshore related to all SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities systems equipment.
      Approve the contractors system commissioning procedures and Operational Test Procedures (OTPs) for all SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities systems.
    • Follow up the Precom & commissioning punch list register. Approve the contractor’s punch list activities and control of punch list items including sign-off of punch list items.
    • Produce the pre-commissioning and commissioning dossiers ensuring that all SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities contractor OTPs and other documentation are included. Ensure all OPERCOM requirements are met.
    • Follow up the contractor’s FAT, EFAT, mechanical completion tests, system integration tests, shallow water tests, cool down tests, vessel/rig receipt checks and pre-deployment checks. Ensure all OPERCOM documentation is satisfactorily completed ICAPS is updated.
    • Develop a strategy in order to maximize onshore commissioning and minimize lost time due to interfaces, along with a commissioning sequence.

    Profile

    • Prepare and supervise the execution of SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities systems commissioning to maximize productivity, respect the schedule, minimize cost and achieve smooth hand over.
    • Supervise and monitor the preparation and the realization of the testing activities by the Contractor(s)
    • Ensure that the pre-commissioning schedule is implemented in line with commissioning planning and priorities.
    • Check progress and ensure correct reporting of the commissioning activities.
    • Provide the necessary assistance to the interface contractors SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities during their pre-commissioning and commissioning activities both in the various testing sites and offshore at the FPSO site.
    • Ensure that preservation for all SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities systems is performed as per the procedures.
    • Ensure the contractors adherence to the scope of the contract with respect to the hand-over stages and the transfer of care and custody of the elements of the SPS/UFR/Topsides facilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Education: B. Engineering in Engineering (or equivalent).
    • Professional experience: 10+ years in process engineering studies, including operations exposure.
    • Skills required: Knowledge of OPERCOM methodology and ICAPS software. Particularly related to sub-sea systems.
    • Language: Fluent English, French an advantage
