    Blending Supervisor

    Description 

    • The Blending Manager oversees and directs all blending processes including, but not limited to raw material (blend inputs) selection, ensuring compliance to recipe formulation, production schedules, trouble shouting, blending equipment maintenance and ensuring the finished blend released meet required quality assurance standards.
    • The blending manager is responsible optimization of blending operations and budgeting and on-going development of the department and staff.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee all blending operations at the company, including day-to-day process issues, recipe management, operating policies, procedures, and release parameters, in accordance with Norms.
    • Work with General Manager and production/packaging manager to create a blend schedule that accommodates customer market demands based on priority of plan
    • Work with General Manager to oversee budgets, expenditures, usage, receipt and inventory of sundry consumable items for blending department
    • Prepare capital projects wish list in the blending department including the operating budget for both short and long-term plans (Advisory role)
    • Ensure that proper samples of in-process and finished blend are collected and analyzed appropriately to ensure a quality finished blend
    • Approve for release based on quantitative and qualitative parameters that is as per Standard Operating procedures.
    • Work with staff and quality team to ensure qualitative aspects, elevate significant problems to hi relevant authority to ensure that no contaminated or quality defective blend is released for bottling
    • Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of tanks, inflow pipes, blending areas, and equipment, using hoses, scrapers, brushes, or chemical solutions.
    • Oversee functionality and maintenance of blending equipment, cleaning equipment, water deli equipment and sewer-related systems.
    • Coordinate the reconciliation of blend usage and wastages report for operations. Monitor the movement of materials, equipment, and staff in the Department
    • Ensure optimum yield of intermediate products (i.e. blends) with minimal material wastage e.g. alcohol evaporation.
    • Maintain detailed accurate blending records, and provide monthly summary/blending report. Oversee, develop and enforce the policies and procedures of the company, including creating and documenting comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for blending operations, +washing, filtration, equipment operations, cleaning and sanitation procedures, and safety protocols
    • Manage and supervise the blending team
    • Lead blending team meetings communicating current objectives, production performer to plan, challenges and successes, troubleshooting, and taking corrective action when necessary.
    • Oversee and develop blending team through technical, supervisory, and line assignment all functions supported by job descriptions performance objectives, and performance assessments.
    • Define these team requirements and performance objectives in conjunction with General Manager.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations for blending staff.
    • Assist in the hiring process for new blending team members when need arises.
    • Facilitate and ensure on-the-job coaching and identify training gaps/requirements for blending staff for growth and development of team members.
    • Work with packaging/bottling sections to ensure seamless transfer of blend as required by the bottling lines without adverse impact.
    • Lead the zero-harm safety initiative of the company in the department for personnel, processes brand reputation and assets within the department
    • Carry out other duties as assigned by the General Manager

    Special Skills / Attributes

    • Minimal qualification of at least HND / BSc / B.Tech / Engineering
    • A Degree and 5 years of Blending experience in manufacturing
    • Sound appreciation of basic fluid mechanics good time management
    • Good work organization
    • Good analytical skills
    • Excellent knowledge of food chemistry.

    Reports:

    • Daily Blending Operations report
    • Monthly Blending Department report

    Requirements

    • Mininmum of BSC (Hons) / HND: Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Food Tech / Biochemistry
    • Mininmum of 5 years relevant experience

    Lead, Sachet Technician (VFF & HFF Sachet Packaging Machine Technician)

    • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
    • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to manufacturing operations.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
    • Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and FDA regulations.
    • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or other continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Technical training or certification in machine operation or maintenance.
