    Technical Manager

    Job Description

    This job role is to ensure expedited and optimal performance of technical activities in the Region. 

    Job Requirements

    1. A first degree in Electrical Engineering; and a postgraduate qualification in power systems engineering or management fields are required.
    2. Possession of certifications in Engineering is required; Membership in a professional body is required e.g. NSE. 
    3. At least 15+ years’ experience planning, coordinating, and supervising technical operations within a utility or similar company.

    Technical competencies

    1. Deep understanding of principles and practices of power distribution operations
    2. Good knowledge of methods, materials, practices, and equipment generally used in the operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of electricity distribution systems.
    3. Deep understanding of principles of electrical instrumentation and mechanical installation, functions, and maintenance

    Job Responsibility

    1. Coordinate the functioning of the technical team at the Region to ensure a high degree of performance by technical engineers. 
    2. Implements various maintenance-related programs including routine, proactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance across Business Hubs.
    3. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to coordinate routine and specialized operations.
    4. Ensures that technical operations are executed in compliance with safety rules, policies, and procedures. 
    5. Monitors contractors to ensure that work or services delivered conform with IBEDC specifications.  
    6. Ensure technical assets and equipment are functioning optimally (transformers, cables, etc.)
    7. Make necessary arrangements to manage the impact of network/station shutdown.
    8. Ensures inspection, tests, and commissioning of new equipment at the site in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
    9. Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports to relevant stakeholders. 
    10. Perform any other duty as requested by the CTO/RH.

    Technical Assistant to MD/CEO

    Job Description

    The job role provides Technical Support to the MD/CEO in a one-on-one working relationship, acts as a level three expert on a wide range of relevant technical issues, and provides an all-round strategic thrust on all matters about the Office of the MD/ CEO.

    Job Requirements

    1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent.
    2. A master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is an added advantage
    3. A Professional Qualification in Engineering is desired
    4. At least 10+ years of post-qualification experience in the Engineering field

    6. Prepares agendas for technical meetings, briefing materials, and presentations as needed to support the MD/CEO.
    7. Manages top-level Board and Clients calendar of appointments/meetings, composes and prepares technical correspondences for the MD/CEO.

    Job Description

    This role assists the office of the MD/CEO in overseeing the formation of data-driven insights for informed decisions.

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Statistics or equivalent
    • Relevant professional certification or qualification would be an added advantage.
    • At least 10+ years in a similar role or related field.

    Job Responsibility

    1. Defines and develops a comprehensive end-to-end Supply Chain strategy including performance benchmarks in line with the business strategy.
    2. Oversees the forecasting of demand levels for services and products to meet business needs.
    3. Ensure procurement of high-value materials and equipment in line with approval. 
    4. Defines operational strategies to ensure the efficient/cost-effective supply and timely delivery of equipment and materials in compliance with company policies or procedures and statutory regulations.

    9. Oversees proper maintenance and upkeep of IBEDC assets (land, buildings, offices, warehouses, stores, vehicles, etc.) - optimize operational assets.
    10. Liaise with other stakeholders to develop and update Asset Disposal Policy.
    11. Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports to relevant stakeholders.
    12. Perform any other duties as requested by the MD/ CEO.
