    Nail Plant Operator

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Sets up of machines that automatically cut and shape coiled wire to make nails of specified sizes
    • Installs and secures die plates and nail-point cutting knives, and positions feeding mechanism according to work order specifications, using handtools. Mounts coil of wire on rod and threads wire through straightening rollers, feeding mechanism, and into slots of die plates
    • Tightens roller bolts to secure wire, using wrench, and turns flywheel to produce sample nail
    • Measures nail with split gauge or micrometer, and inspects nail for flaws, such as chips and distortions
    • Conduct quality check on incoming materials that are within specification via visual and measurement test
    • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of production processes within the Smelting, Casting & Wire Drawing section -
    • Discuss observations with supervisor and update required reports
    • Comply with the Company’s/ Department’s quality Management system and the Health, Safety & Environmental Management system policies and procedures.
    • Observes operation to ensure product meets specifications

    REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATION

    • OND / HND / mechanical Engineering is an advantage.

    Melter

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate with scrap supervisor for receiving raw material as per production plan
    • Adjust scrap mix in order to meet quality requirements, operate to ensure a quality foamy slag, take slag samples and Adjust fluxes as necessary, takes temperature tests and samples as required
    • operate the furnace as per prescribed procedure, prepare liquid as per prescribed chemistry and grades and temperature required for casting, and oversee preparation of furnace as per prescribed guidelines
    • Examine furnace after each heat to determine condition of refractories, water-cooled panels, roof, burners, and make necessary repairs
    • Supervise the dedusting / pollution system to ensure proper furnace operating pressure and evacuation
    • Monitor all primary and secondary cooling components and temperatures, and make adjustments as needed
    • Supervise magnet crane operator, bariman and chargers and provide guidance as required
    • Guide team of Melter first hand to transfer liquid metal into molds and then remove the ceramic mold from the parts.
    • Coordinate with the quality team on samples / outputs before proceeding with next steps; Revise process if required to meet quality standards.
    • Coordinate with the maintenance team for any maintenance related issues. Coordinate with CCM team at the time of pouring and sequence

    REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATION

    • Diploma in metallurgy
    • 06 - 10 years
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    CCTV Monitoring Operator

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To use the CCTV equipment proactively and to its optimum level to help Management to detect and deter crime and anti-social behaviour.
    • Use the CCTV cameras to identify offenders and provide high quality evidence to enable investigations and were necessary prosecutions and if required provide written witness statements
    • Prepare detailed reports of incidents, including time, date, and nature of the incident, for management review.
    • Recording all events, incidents and actions taken in a clear, legible and accurate written format.
    • Maintain a log of all activities and incidents observed during monitoring.
    • To maintain a secure system for providing data in accordance with the regulations and also to ensure the security of the control room and equipment is maintained at all times and to report equipment failure to the Management.
    • Providing efficient and courteous radio and telephone answering service and deal efficiently with all enquiries.
    • Monitoring people in different locations to identify instances of suspicious or unusual behaviour
    • Confirming that the CCTV system is operating as intended and that video is properly recorded and saved.
    • Ensure all cameras are functioning correctly and covering designated areas effectively.
    • Coordinate with technical staff for the maintenance and repair of CCTV equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and industry best practices related to CCTV monitoring.
    • Follow company policies and procedures regarding privacy and data protection.
    • Keeping a secure system in place for data transmission in compliance with the rules, making sure the equipment and control room is always kept safe.

    REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATION

    • OND / HND / B.Sc is an advantage.
    • CCTV certification and computer experience needed.
    • 06 -10 years
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Private / commercial security experience / background is an advantage.
    • Ability to work independently and to multitask
    • Ability to identify small, apparently unnoticeable details that most people would ordinarily overlook.
    • Good concentration skills and ability to notice and record detail.

    Wire Drawer

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Planning, organising, leading and controlling in order to produce quality products at the lowest levels of waste
    • Troubleshooting process challenges
    • Sets up and operates wire drawing machines to draw appropriate finished wire sizes as specified on work orders. Loads work with forklift and threads according to established procedures. Selects and Install proper dies for drawing parts and pilots for holding and centering wire. Sets guards as required. Adjusts equipment and changes dies as required to ensure wire meets specifications
    • selects appropriate rod from stock. Welds rod together as required to connect wire and ensure continuous flow into the drawing machine. Grinds weld to make smooth.
    • Utilizes micrometres to verify beginning and ending diameters of wire. Makes periodic micrometre and visual checks on work to minimize spoilage and ensure proper size is drawn to meet customer specifications.
    • Tags work and records required information pertinent to production and time records

    Crane Machine Operator

    ESPONSIBILITIES

    • The role of the Ladle Crane Operator is to safely operate the hot metal crane during operations and during times of maintenance at the facility
    • operating a cab controlled overhead crane and working around molten steel and slag.
    • Safety is the most important part of all jobs within SMS; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures
    • Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to transporting hot metal for the operation
    • Emptying ladles after processing, coordinating the operations with the entire melt shop team, and to cross train other team members in the hot metal crane operator position
    • Track functioning of the machine during process and off – process for any irregularities; Inform the Manager/ In-charge for corrective action (filling logbook, records, and checklist).

    AC Technician

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems.
    • Repair faulty air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and Plant
    • Troubleshoot air conditioning/refrigeration equipment malfunctions, diagnose problems and perform maintenance on equipment. Complete logs detailing works carried out inclusive of parts utilised.
    • Make recommendations to replace equipment, if expected cost to repair exceeds possible replacement cost.
    • Perform regular cleaning of all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, inclusive of vents.
    • Create and maintain an ongoing inventory showing the number of air conditioning units, and other refrigeration equipment and their location.
