    Security Manager

    Job Description

    • Will develop and coordinate the implementation of the project’s security plan, monitor and control the safety and security of Staff and assets of AHNi.
    • S/He will help to improve contextual analysis, support operational management and strengthen the security capacities of the project and supervise the Security Coordinator and Officer.
    • S/He will collect and analyze all security information, carry out a thorough analysis of the security situation in the current and potential areas of intervention and provide periodic update to Management. Also, s/he will convene and participate in the review of security procedures for the project/organization, ensuring that the elements of the contingency plan are updated and support the admin/logistics department in monitoring movements.
    • The successful Candidate will develop and establish an effective and functioning communications system for security management within AHNi that is fully integrated into the UN Emergency Communications System.
    • S/He will identify, capture, synthesize and share lessons learned for knowledge development and build the capacity of staff and stakeholders as well as develop capacity-building initiatives to enhance the competencies of Staff/stakeholders on security-related preparedness and operations.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • B.Sc / BA Degree in International Relations, Security Management, Risk Management, Humanitarian Work with 8 to 9 years’ experience
    • Experience as Ex-Military - Nigeria, SSS or Nigeria Police
    • Experience in incident reporting, incident mapping, compilation of security reports and assessments
    • Experience in training and coaching national staff in safety and security
    • Technical competency and training experience in field-based communication systems, Thuraya and internet systems
    • Sound knowledge of humanitarian principals of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence
    • Nigeria experience and understanding local languages is an advantage.
    • Strong report-writing, analytical and interpersonal skills, competency in internet and Microsoft office systems including word, excel, power-point, access and other database mapping systems.

    State Team Lead

    Job Description

    • Will oversee the implementation of the program in the state offices, coordinate all terms of reference, reports (quarterly and annual) in line with approved budgets for the program management, work closely with the Senior Program Advisor in planning and budgeting of program activities.
    • S/he will oversee and provide regular supportive supervision on performance and review of the process of project implementation in all program activities, provide support to the Senior Program Advisor on technical, administrative, and operational management of the program.
    • Support in managing regular correspondence with Donor representatives on various stages of program implementation.
    • Lead the development of work plans and budgets and communicate these to staff and partners.
    • Oversee strategy implementation and delivery of results in the state with close working relationship with the Senior Program Advisor for strategic direction. Ensure compliance with Donor’s terms and conditions as well as AHNi rules and regulations.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • Master's Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Health or Behavioral Sciences, or other relevant fields required with 7-9 years’ experience
    • At least 7 years of mid-level experience implementing, and managing or evaluating complex health programs with an emphasis on health systems strengthening; health financing; and/or health sector policy and strategies
    • Demonstrated technical depth and understanding of the health policy environment and governance in Nigeria or in a country of similar development context; experience in Nigeria, particularly in the Northern regions preferred
    • Demonstrated success managing large, complex donor programs; previous experience in managing a USAID contract strongly preferred
    • Experience building and maintaining partnerships with other development programs, local organizations, host country governments, and international agencies
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English required, working knowledge of Hausa preferred.

    Assistant Technical Officer - AMERL

    Job Description

    • Will work with others in the State Office and Local Implementing Partners to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet the Donor and Project’s M&E needs.
    • S/he will re-validate high Frequency reporting, support onsite mentoring activities under the guidance of the Technical Officer-AMERL and take regular M&E tools inventory, reporting same to the Technical Officer-AMERL.
    • S/He will monitor periodic M&E tools distribution to supported sites, provide administrative support to the department, provide M&E support to the states, and ensure that locally employed Monitoring and Evaluation Staff, Consultants and Partners understand and can support the M&E requirements and coordinate the logistics for all State M&E department trainings, workshops and meetings.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • MB.BS / MD / PHD or similar Degree with 2 to 3 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation with a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings.
    • Or MPH or MS / MA in relevant Degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation with a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings.
    • Or BS / BA in Statistics, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Monitoring and Evaluation or in relevant Degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation with a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings.
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

    Senior Program Advisor

    Job Description

    • Will provide strategic technical leadership and support to the Managing Director on the ACEBAY project and other public health interventions, monitoring, evaluation, learning and operational research.
    • The position holder will also provide program leadership in support of all field operations (technical/programmatic) under the supervision of the Managing Director.
    • S/He will assist the Managing Director to provide technical leadership and technical support related to clinical management of HIV/AIDS, PMTCT, Hypertension care & management, Reproductive Health/Family Planning strategies and approaches.
    • Coordinate the design and implementation of HIV clinical care/ART, PMTCT, reproductive health/family planning strategies in field-level projects and program, provide leadership to the state office and field-level M&E program and provide overall guidance on program/project monitoring and evaluation and on US Government and Government of Nigeria reporting requirements.
    • Also, s/he will provide support to the sites in the state, including interacting with site Program Managers, Implementing Agencies and local research groups on needs and ensuring that locally employed Monitoring and Evaluation staff, consultants and AHNI partners understand and can support these requirements.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • MB.BS / MD / PHD or similar degree with 5 to 7 years relevant experience with at least 5 years progressive experience working in the health or development field in Nigeria
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in care and treatment for HIV/AIDS especially with ARV program
    • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is required
    • Proven experience in project development, planning and facilitating technical training
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

    Communications & Infographics Officer

    Job Description

    • Will support AHNi’s communication in all areas including social media handling, written communication and visual communication.
    • S/He will be responsible for developing quality and visually appealing presentations, content management, communication materials through graphic design and web optimization solutions.
    • S/He will support the development and implementation of internal and external communications strategies for the organization, support maintenance of social media platforms, databases and knowledge management systems, provide support towards content development for AHNi and assist in the production of day-to-day content across all AHNi’s communications platforms, focusing on newsletter and digital content, website articles, blogs, press releases and updates and content for social media.
    • Also, s/he, in coordination with all AHNi projects, will develop regular communication material highlighting AHNi’s activities and achievements and/or engagement and assist in rolling out media events such as press conferences/ media briefings, external interviews with media houses, campaigns, etc.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • Minimum of B.Sc in Communications, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Computer Science or other related degree.
    • Minimum on 4 years’ experience working in a similar role with an International or Local NGO.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Industry certification and membership is an advantage.

    Senior Finance & Administrative Officer

    Job Description

    • Will be responsible for accounting and finance and overall administration for the Project, ensuring compliance with the contractual requirements of the project with the objective of providing professional accountancy services consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Ensure that financial management and office administration policies and procedures in finance are consistent with those of AHNi and donors.
    • Implement accounting and fiscal control procedures to comply with AHNi and donor policies and procedures. Develop and review operational budgets.
    • Provide oversight of pipeline expenditure projections, manage and review financial functions (check requests, wire transfers, and journal entries), provide direction, oversight, and interpretation of accounting policies and procedures that guide the day- to-day operations of the project.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • BS / BA Degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent with 7 - 9 years relevant experience.
    • Or MS / MA Degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 5 - 7 years relevant experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in office management and administration.
    • CPA, ACA, ICAN, CIMA, CFE or any other relevant professional qualification is required.
    • Experience in managing financial records of donor-funded organizations and familiarity with donor and local contractual procedures is an advantage.

    Accountant - Treasury

    Job Description

    • Will be responsible for accounting and ensuring compliance with the contractual financial requirements of the organization.
    • S/He will assist the Senior Accountant to ensure the accurate keeping of all books of account for the project, including checking account, equipment and supply registers and all accounting records, work with the Senior Accountant to lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, including financial status of subprojects account activities with accompanying bank documentation and receipts, assist the Senior Accountant in monitoring sub-project budgets in accordance with approved work plan activities, assist in overseeing GF Treasury Functions at AHNi.
    • Also, s/he will create, update, and maintain financial spreadsheets, develop budgets, including staff time allocations and work with Team Leads to resolve problems associated with monthly expenditures and life-of project budgets.

    Minimum Recruitment Standard

    • BS / BA Degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent with 3 - 5 years relevant experience.
    • Or MS / MA Degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent with 1 - 3 years relevant experience in accounting related to international development programs.
    • Familiarity with donor-funded programs and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria is an advantage.
    • CPA, ACA, ICAN or recognized equivalent is an advantage.
    • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is also an advantage.

    Project Driver

    Job Category: Fixed Term

    Job Description

    • Will provide a variety of transportation support to the project such as conveying AHNi Staff and Consultants to designated approved locations, ensuring that passengers adhere to all road safety regulations.
    • He will carry out the necessary day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs and making arrangements for major repairs.
    • He will be responsible for adequate safety, cleanliness, security and maintenance of the project vehicle assigned, ensuring availability and update of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory and necessary spare parts.
    • He will also pick up and deliver items/documents and run official errands as directed.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • Secondary School Leaving Certificate, apprentice certificate or any other equivalent Certificate with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
    • Must have a trade test certificate and a valid driving license.
    • Must have expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
    • Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage.
    • Experience with large complex organizations preferred.
