    Solution Architect

    The Role

    • We are looking to hire a talented Solution Architect to define and integrate our company’s software architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for upgrading or defining new architecture systems to support future and current Java applications. You will also be involved in software design and the integration of all Java-based applications.
    • To ensure success as a Solution Architect, you should have in-depth knowledge of software architecture, experience with network design, and high-level like Java programming skills. Ultimately, a top-class Solution architect can see the big picture needs of a company and design scalable architecture to handle the company’s current and future software application needs.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develops the technical design documents, ensures proper handover of the technical design to developers(team) to code as per design
    • Should be able to create a complete technical design for projects, making sure the design is extensible and scalable
    • Should have played a Designer role(s) and must have designed a solution for the developers to build
    • High level system architecture involving more than one system
    • Assist development team in resolving technical problems
    • Anticipate, identify, track and resolve technical issues and risks affecting delivery
    • Assist with the design, build, rollout and run support for technology solutions
    • Design and/or configure applications/tools to functional and technical requirements
    • Participate in effort estimation for new project(s) technical solutions
    • Design & develop reusable components and IP for the organization where possible
    • Performing a QA review of applications/products built for the provided design
    • Identify gaps in existing systems and suggest solutions for the identified gaps
    • Quick learning of current market frameworks and tools to introduce in projects
    • Assisting the software design team with application integration
    • Meeting with technology managers and the design team to discuss the goals and needs of the company
    • Generally, uphold the values of the Company

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Degree in Information Systems / B Sc Computer Science (or similar)
    • Experience working in an Agile environment
    • 3+ Years in Architecture / Design Solutioning
    • 10 years overall experience within the IT industry
    • Background projects experience – OOPS, Java, Development Projects, Data architecture (will be added advantage)
    • TOGAF 9.2 / ArchiMate or relevant architecture certification will be a value add
    • Experience in cloud design solutions preferably AWS and AWS Certified Solutions Architect
    • Architecture and solution design (UML, OO, SOA) is required
    • Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Agile Methodologies
    • Experience in Micro services development using tools like spring boot
    • Experience with Apache Camel and Apache Kafka
    • Experience with data architecture using either Open source or closed source technologies (ELK Stack , Apache Spark etc)

    You will be a good fit if you have:

    • Excellent technical skills, come from a software background and have proven development skills as there is a large hands-on element to this role
    • Good documentation and diagramming skills and a desire to communicate and back up designs using documentation
    • A strong passion for designing and seeing through the implementation of highly available and performant systems, including validating the implementation through extensive load tests and high availability tests

    Legal Counsel

    The Role

    • The Legal Counsel will be responsible for the management of all legal and regulatory matters relating to the company’s business in our Anglophone West Africa region (Nigeria, Ghana and any other countries in the region). Such responsibilities would include providing legal advisory, drafting and review of contracts, providing support in respect of the company’s  regulatory affairs as well as the company’s engagement with law enforcement agencies in the region. At times, you will also provide required support in the company’s other countries of operation as and when necessary. This role requires strong legal knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Contract Management:

    • Drafting, reviewing and negotiation of agreements.
    • Maintain an organized system of physical and digital records for all contracts and legal documents.
    • Provide advice on contractual matters to minimize risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Monitor and notify the company of new and existing regulations from relevant regulatory bodies, such as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
    • Engage with regulators to ensure the company complies with all regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and implement internal policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Law Enforcement Agencies Management:

    • Provide the required support in all interactions with law enforcement agencies.
    • Ensure the company’s interests are represented and protected in all dealings with law enforcement.

    Legal Support:

    • Serving as legal advisory and support to all internal stakeholders such as IT, risk, commercial, treasury, compliance and other departments as required.
    • Assist in the resolution of legal disputes and issues.
    • Ensure all company activities comply with relevant legal standards including but not limited to general legal advisory, product reviews and company secretarial matters.

    Desired Skills:

    • 5 – 7 years of experience as a qualified lawyer, preferably with experience in payments or financial services.
    • Extensive legal knowledge on a variety of legal issues (e.g., contract, regulatory, IP, data privacy, employment, consumer protection) and an ability to distill complexity and to identify and clearly communicate practical solutions.
    • You must be a great communicator and solid project manager, able to effectively prioritise and advance a large number of matters, often on tight deadlines.
    • Familiarity with financial services regulations and policies.
    • Experience in engaging with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies.
    • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience working at a PSP or financial services firm and on matters relating to fintech in general is desirable.

    Monitoring Team Member

    The Role

    • The Monitoring Team Member is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the effective monitoring of systems, processes, and activities within the organization. This role involves monitoring platforms, analyzing data, generating reports, escalations to the internal staff and third parties for prompt escalations, and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor Systems and Processes: Continuously monitor various systems and processes to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently.

    • Training: Provide training and support to staff within the organization on monitoring tools and best practices.
    • Work schedule – Will be required to work weekends and night shift/rotations.

    Senior Data Analyst

    The Role

    We are recruiting a Senior Data Analyst to join the Baxi Analytic team, who will be responsible for Data reporting and analytics.  As a core member of the TEAM, the Senior Data Analyst will report to the V.P Operations/Head of internal Operations and work closely with RELEVANT KEY STAKEHOLDERS.

    We are seeking candidates with four to six years of experience as a Senior Data analyst. The successful candidate must be passionate about his job, proficiency in the use of analytical tool; Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, R programming language, exceptional communication skills, high EQ, strong organization skills, and be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment etc. Success in this role will require someone who is smart and diligent. 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collecting data from various sources.
    • Using statistical tools to identify, analyse, clean, and prepare data in complex data sets.
    • Visual data representation and graphical display of analyzed data.
    • Developing and maintaining databases and data systems – reorganizing data in a visual / readable format as requested.
    • Streamlining data collection methods to create automated and easy-to-use routines.
    • Preparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
    • Working with programmers, engineers, stakeholders, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, reporting, trends, patterns, activities, and predictions using relevant data and structural data, enabling them to take important decisions.

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree Statistics or in a relevant field.
    • 4 to 6 years’ Experience as a data analyst.
    • IBM Data Analyst Professional certificate.
    • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst.
    • AWS Certified Data Analytics.
    • Microsoft Excel Professional certificate.
    • Experience working in fin/tech a plus.

    Desired skills: 

    • Clearly conveying findings, both written and orally, to non-technical stakeholders. This includes creating reports and presentations that give insights from the data.
    • Critical thinking: The ability to approach problems logically and make informed decisions based on the data.
