    Pharmacy Technician (Level 5)

    Location: Shinkafi, Zamfara
    Contract Period: Six Months
    Contract: 208 working hours per month
    Possibility of extension: Yes

    Main Purpose

    • Supporting drug supply management in the designated facilities under the supervision of the Mission Pharmacy Manager of the project and according to MSF health policies and protocols, in order to contribute and guarantee proper management and distribution of drugs and medical devices.

    Job Description

    • In cooperation with the Pharmacy Manager, assist in the supervision, management and control of the medical stock in the project 
    • In cooperation with the Pharmacy Manager, assist on a monthly basis the preparation and approval of order requests, ensuring they are completed in timely manner to prevent unnecessary orders in between.
    • Follow-up on drug ruptures.
    • In cooperation with the Pharmacy Supervisor and other MSF team members, assist in the supervision, management, follow up and control of medical/supply stock in the MSF office, expat houses, and MSF cars. This includes physical count, ordering and monitoring of expired dates.
    • Assist with the collection of consumption from facilities on at least a monthly basis and ensure collection of  data about number of patients.
    • Support the Pharmacy Manager in all related monthly reports as well as providing medical data to relevant MSF team members
    • Improve and follow up on monitoring systems in place.
    • Support the managers in their responsibilities regarding monitoring of drug consumption, stock management and preparing/receiving orders
    • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment used.
    • Assist in preparing and organizing training sessions for MSF staff.
    • Provide programs continuity during supervisor’s absence and handovers; sharing knowledge of program with incoming staff in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

    Requirements
    Education:

    • University Degree in Pharmacy, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry.

    Experience:

    • Experience collaborating with local pharmacy systems (MoH and private) is an asset.
    • Demonstrable experience in supervising and training others in a team setting.

    Language:

    • English and Hausa languages are mandatory; Other local languages are recommendable

    Knowledge:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Good computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel.

    Laboratory Supervisor

    Location: Zurmi, Zamfara
    Contract Period: Six Months
    Contract: 208 working hours per month
    Grade Level: 7
    Possibility of extension: Yes

    Main Purpose

    • Plan, organize and carry out laboratory activities. Supervise laboratory staff according to MSF protocols, maintain security measures and hygiene standards in order to support MSF medical teams in diagnosing patients’ diseases.

    Job Description

    • Participate in project planning, follow-up and review of the laboratory budget when necessary
    • Ensure compliance of MSF hygiene and safety protocols and advise staff of existing biological risks.
    • Perform laboratory tests and carrying out sample collection (serology, hematology, biochemistry, bacteriology, parasitology).
    • Ensure proper management (cleaning, maintenance, arranging) of all laboratory equipment and maintain adequate supply of needed equipment and material in order to prevent stock-outs..
    • In the absence of a Laboratory Manager, ensure proper registration and needs of all lab related activities and implement a correct use of the associated management tool (EpyTryp. Etc.).
    • Supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, coaching, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility  
    • Ensure  that all staff utilizing medical devices are qualified and trained.
    • Ensure  cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed  according to the protocols.
    • Producing regular reports on tests and on any additional problems related to laboratory personnel or material used.

    Requirements
    Education:

    • Essential: University Degree in Laboratory Science.

    Experience:

    • Essential: 2 years experience in a laboratory, preferably as a Lab Tech.
    • Desirable in MSF or another NGO, desirable in a clinical laboratory.

    Language:

    • Local and Mission language essential.

    Knowledge:

    • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).

    Logistics Supervisor (Level 6)

    Location: Shinkafi, Zamfara
    Contract Period: Six Months
    Possibility of Extension: Yes
    Contract: 208 working hours per month

    Main Purpose

    • Supervise daily logistics activities and provide maintenance to MSF equipment, facilities and infrastructures according to MSF standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.

    Job Description

    • Monitor maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to MSF standards
    • Ensure checks and follow-up of facilities under the line manager's supervision through daily visits to the facilities and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and follow-up minor building rehabilitation work according to supervisor's instructions
    • Ensure that office premises observe security protocols and monitor the usage of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/devices
    • Plan together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems and set-up’s according to MSF standards
    • Coordinate and lead the logistics team and provide daily supervision, monitor quality of work, define each staff task, draw up staff work schedules, organize and lead team meetings, participate in the recruitment of logs personnel and attend logistics meetings
    • Ensure vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to MSF standards and Instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks
    • Manage and follow up orders which include collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force, providing technical support to the storekeeper, making local purchases according to MSF supply procedures and ensuring reception conditions of freight or arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before  shipment

    Requirements
    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Transportation; Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or in a related field

    Experience:

    • At least 2 years experience in logistics, supply chain management and WASH activities implementation with MSF or similar INGOs.
    • Experience in basic security management and use of radio communication an asset

    Language:

    • English and Hausa (other local languages Essential).

    Knowledge:

    • Essential computer literacy (MS Office applications) Excellent reporting and analytical skills.
