    Nigeria Agricultural Extension and Expansion Supervisor

    About the Role

    The Agric. Extension and Expansion Supervisor role at One Acre Fund Nigeria is a permanent, mid-level position within the Field Operations department, based in Minna, Nigeria, and reporting directly to the Field Operations Specialist. This important role focuses on ensuring effective agronomic practices, coordinating expansion efforts, and impacting 1 million farmers by 2030. Success is measured by the successful implementation of compliance protocols, expansion into new areas, and increased farmer adoption of best practices. The team has achieved significant milestones, including implementing compliance protocols, expanding into new areas, and increasing farmer adoption of best practices. As part of the Field Operations department, the supervisor manages an Agric. Extension Manager and Agric. Extension Agents, overseeing their daily activities and ensuring understanding of organizational objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate agronomic compliance activities across designated regions, ensuring adherence to best practices.
    • Help expand One Acre Fund programs into new areas, conducting research to identify suitable locations.
    • Support training and capacity-building initiatives for field teams and community members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
    • Manage team partners relationships, fostering collaboration and support for organizational objectives.
    • Analyze data and track Goals to measure the impact of agronomic and expansion efforts, informing strategic decision-making.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of relevant experience in extension services, field operations coordination and team leadership.
    • Knowledge of agronomic best practices and compliance standards.
    • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in using ODK (Open Data Kit).
    • Openness to frequent travel, predominantly to support field facing teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in team settings and build relationship.

    Nigeria Research and Evaluation Lead

    About the Role

    As the Nigeria Research and Evaluation Lead, you will independently oversee the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) department, taking responsibility for impact evaluations and other studies aligned with program goals. Reporting directly to the Global MEL Regional Manager, you will manage a team responsible for MEL processes and are expected to foster creativity and process improvement. Your role involves representing the department and collaborating with Global One Acre Fund Leadership for strategic decision-making on MEL initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop survey designs, conduct field testing, and refine survey instruments.
    • Perform data analysis and generate reports to draw meaningful conclusions and actionable insights.
    • Oversee the management of the in-country MEL team which collectively supports a team of over 60 part-time Enumerators. Responsibilities include:Mentor M&E managers through field visits, meetings, career conversations, and professional reviews.
    • Conduct in-field supervision of critical M&E activities, maintaining a focus on achieving high data quality standards.
    • Supervise in-field follow-up procedures to address and rectify survey data quality issues promptly.
    • Supervise the recruitment and growth of M&E staff, involving the following responsibilities:
    • Facilitate regular training sessions to enhance the skills of data collectors.
    • Address performance issues with underperforming staff.

    • Professional experience of 7+ years, reflecting an interest in international development.
    • Academic or professional background in designing, implementing evaluations/research, and analyzing findings.
    • Strong quantitative skills and experience with statistical software, preferably STATA or R.
    • Preferred Master's degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Statistics, or a related field, but not strictly required.
    • Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of Hausa is an added advantage

    Nigeria Management Trainee

    About the Role

    One Acre Fund Nigeria is looking to train a cohort of management trainees  for a 6-month intensive management trainee program. The trainees will work on impactful projects, receive mentorship from organizational leaders and provide support to One Acre Fund's operations. The goal is to acquire all essential knowledge to become future managers, in fields, such as marketing and sales, HR or operations. Trainees will be given substantial work assignments and asked to produce high-quality deliverables.

    Our management trainees are valued members of the One Acre Fund family and we are looking for individuals to join this cohort. Specific projects during the management Trainee program may change with the needs of the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Professional Experience: You will participate in on-the-job training and contribute to your respective departments, while building networks and knowledge across One Acre Fund. You will join field visits, where you will work at the fore front of our operations, learning important aspects of our work and directly engaging with our clients.
    • Learning and Development: You will develop the knowledge to contribute to our program and the competencies to lead. Activities range from building program fluency through intensive training on policies, products and operations. This ensures that you understand how One Acre Fund operates and how to align your skills to priority areas. You will participate in a range of leadership and professional development workshops to networking, mentorship and conversations with One Acre Fund Nigeria Leadership.
    • Coaching and Mentoring Opportunities: Trainees are assigned mentors at the peer and departmental level. Mentors can provide advice on multiple topics ranging from building program fluency to identifying career opportunities throughout One Acre Fund.

    • Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service with not more than 1-3 years working experience.
    • Have demonstrable leadership experience.
    • Internet proficiency, and average to proficient skills in MS Office and Google suites E.g. Google Docs, Word, Excel - can maintain moderate to complex spreadsheets), and PowerPoint) is required.
    • You can perform quantitative analysis
