    Procurement Specialist

    Job Description:

    • The candidate for this position will drive sales and ensure profitability for FELPET Nigeria Limited Electrical and Instrumentation Business Unit, by using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers.

    Work Role & Responsibilities:

    • Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs), OEM/Supplier/Vendor selection, tenders/bids, Purchase Orders, and negotiation of an award for services (Freight, clearing).
    • Prepare reports on RFQs and Purchases, including Pre-bid analysis, Price analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis, etc.
    • Responsible for preparation of assigned RFQs / Bids / Tenders from receipt to submission.
    • Sourcing to identify the client’s needs and obtain the best competitive prices for items from the correct manufacturers and reputable suppliers.
    • Negotiate supplier’s and vendor’s quotes.
    • Source to obtain the best and cost-effective freight methods for items in RFQs or Purchase Orders.
    • Raise and chase up Purchase Orders. 
    • Track and expedite Purchase Orders assigned to Manufacturers / Suppliers and ensure the procurement activities are in line with the terms and conditions of the Bid / PO.
    • Responsible for monitoring and tracking the delivery of imported shipments with the Freight Forwarders and Clearing Agents
    • Track payments with the Accounts unit
    • Assist the Admin/Logistics unit with the receipt and delivery of goods to the clients.
    • Carry out other procurement and expediting functions that may be assigned
    • Assist the Lead to ensure the targets set are achieved for the unit.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in any relevant field. 
    • Significant Procurement / Supply Chain experience, for a portfolio of Electrical and Instrumentation products and services.
    • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector in a structured business environment.
    • Understanding and familiarity with supply chain/procurement procedures. (Sourcing, bidding, purchase order management, expediting, etc.)
    • Good understanding of logistics procedures
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Solid analytical skills, with the ability to prepare price analysis, cost-benefit analysis, etc.
    • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and resolve specification, technical, and/or commercial queries and also strategize for better solutions.
    • Market and/or Price Intelligence / Commercial awareness of E & I products and services
    • Product Knowledge (of E & I products and services would be an advantage)
    • Good sourcing skills (both local and foreign products and services)
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems and software used by clients in the Oil & Gas sector (e.g.: SAP Ariba, GEP, etc.)
    • Contract Management
    • Data and Information Management
    • Strong negotiation and consultative sales skills.
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
    • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
    • Consistent ability to meet and adhere to deadlines.
    • Teamwork / collaborative skills

    Outdoor Sales Lead - Procurement Specialist

    Job Summary

    • The candidate for this position will drive sales and ensure profitability for FELPET Nigeria Limited Electrical and Instrumentation Business Unit, by using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers.

    Work Role & Responsibilities:

    • Successfully create business from new and existing customer accounts
    • Manage complex negotiations with senior-level executives
    • Build rapport and establish long-term relationships with customers, cultivating solid relationships with major customers to ensure a continuous flow of sales revenue.
    • Identify growth opportunities and develop strategic and operating plans to achieve growth.
    • Manage orders with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) down to delivery.
    • Submit invoices to clients dotted with the accounts department down to receiving payments.
    • Ensuring that all sales administration and customer service activities run smoothly.
    • Mandatory Maintenance of accurate records and of the total number of sales made, potential and existing customers, as well as sales employee performance evaluations.
    • Assisting newly-recruited or less experienced Sales Representatives in answering technical questions posed by customers.
    • Analyzing sales metrics to determine whether current sales strategies are effective.
    • Conduct in-depth research on competitors' products, pricing, and market success to gain insight into customer preferences and interests.
    • Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both customer and company needs.
    • Bid and submit tenders timely to clients/prospective clients.
    • Maintain enquiry/tender records of our clients/prospective clients.
    • Prepare quotations based on the technical specifications requested and the pricing policy adopted by the company.
    • Support sales activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
    • Weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of procurement and marketing (projects/sales) activities are mandatory.
    • Liaise with the sales executives to produce required updates to clients on ongoing contracts.
    • Assist in the coordination of pricing, estimating, and scoping strategies for proposed projects and in the development and preparation of technical bids and specifications.
    • Assist in the control of work progress, ensuring accurate client billings, monitoring outstanding accounts receivable, and collection efforts on related projects.
    • Perform other assigned procurement duties as may be necessary to achieve organizational growth. Assist the Lead to ensure the targets set are achieved for the unit.

     Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Proven sales management experience.
    • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM)software.
    • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector in a structured business environment. Extensive product and client knowledge in the Oil and Gas Industry
