    Project Finance Controller

    Job Description

    • In this position you will be responsible for the financial (and administrative) follow up of the projects and overheads of the DEME Group in Nigeria.
    • You will be interacting directly with the Finance Manager.
    • This role will have the opportunity and responsibility to understand how a dredging project is managed from a financial point of view.
    • The main functions will be preparing budgets and cash flows, analysing of the results of the project, manage invoice flows and advice on risks and opportunities in projects.

    Your responsibilities

    • Analyse financial results, monitor the budgeting and forecasting control cycle, identify and analyse potential financial risk areas and support or monitor the implementation of risk mitigating activities.
    • Draw cash flow forecasts and analyse and monitor these, as well as monitor, analyse and advise on hedging of foreign cash flows and fuel.
    • Ensure all in- and external commercial and financial reporting on the project phases and end results of the project, signal issues and opportunities to in- and external stakeholders, in line with the reporting procedures and deadlines of the DEME Group.
    • Provide detailed advice and signal opportunities for improvement to (Project) Management on project related financial matters, such as financing possibilities for clients on projects.
    • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of (local) financial and fiscal laws, theories and developments and financial contractual requirements and apply and share knowledge with colleagues and relevant stakeholders
    • Work and act in accordance with the applicable QHSE-S instructions and measures, take appropriate measures in case of accidents and hazardous situations and draw proposals for improvement.
    • Ensure financial project administration, design and follow-up planning, organisation of site logistics, staff support, facilities and general administration, in line with local and legal requirements.
    • Ad hoc tasks.

    Your profile

    • 5 years of progressive responsibility in accounting related functions.
    • Master’s degree preferably with accounting major or related field.
    • Proven knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
    • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
    • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
    • Experience working with an international company is a plus.

    Chief Accountant

    Job Description

    • In this position you will be responsible for the accounting and financial statements of the DEME entities in Nigeria.
    • You will be interacting directly with the Finance Manager.
    • You will have to provide technical and administrative support for finance and general accounting.
    • Prepare required financial reports; maintain integrity of financial reporting system and prepare the financial statements.

    Your responsibilities

    • Prepares quarterly financial reports for DEME entities in Nigeria.
    • Manages daily accounting activities to maintain the organization’s general ledger.
    • Coordinates and ensures timely monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
    • Prepares annual financial statements.
    • Prepares and/or reviews month-end journal entries.
    • Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting and tax compliance processes.
    • Ensures compliance with all legal requirements.
    • Works with the Finance Manager to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
    • Is the first point of contact for the statutory financial audit of all DEME entities in Nigeria.
    • Analyses potential financial risks and monitor the implementation of risk mitigating activities.
    • Make cashflow and financial forecasts.
    • Manage the accounting team lead and develop project members.
    • Ad hoc tasks.

    Your profile

    • 5 years of progressive responsibility in accounting related functions (with at least 3 years in supervisory role).
    • Master’s degree preferably with accounting major or related field.
    • Proven knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    • Proven knowledge of transaction taxes.
    • Maintain overview of the day-to-day accounting process.
    • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • ACA or ACCA required.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
    • Experience working with an international company is a plus.
    • Modesty and professional attitude.

    Deputy Finance Manager

    Job Description

    • In this position you will be, together with the Resident Finance Manager, responsible for all finance and accounting matters of the DEME Group companies in Nigeria.
    • You will be responsible to make sure that all DEME Group procedures and legal requirements are complied with related to accounting, finance and tax.
    • You will manage a team and will be responsible for the financial statements, tax reporting, commercial reporting and managing risk and opportunities.
    • You will also be involved in advising in the tender process.

    Your responsibilities

    • Ensure or execute statutory and commercial accounting according to the legal requirements and IFRS guidelines.
    • Analyse financial results, monitor the budgeting and forecasting control cycle, identify and analyse potential financial risk areas and support or monitor the implementation of risk mitigating activities.
    • Draw cash flow forecasts and analyse and monitor these, as well as monitor, analyse and advice on hedging of foreign cash flows and fuel.

    • Maintain overview of the day-to-day accounting process.
    • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • ACA or ACCA certified.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
    • Experience working with an international company is a plus.
