    Shift Chemist

    Job Summary

    • Maintaining plant operations with minimal downtime, not exceeding 1% of the available time.
    • Adherence to engineering safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Optimization of plant operations to achieve predetermined production goals.
    • Economical use of resources to align with budgetary constraints

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Conducting analysis of process and boiler water and interpreting the results for plant and boiler operations.
    • Adherence to good laboratory practices, safe handling of chemicals, and maintaining cleanliness.
    • Performing water analysis from the borehole (raw water) to treated water for sugar production and human consumption.
    • Overseeing the production and analysis of demineralized water and reverse osmosis water.
    • Preparation of reagents for analysis.
    • Monitoring the preparation, dosing, and effects of boiler chemicals on boilers.
    • Analyzing boiler water and using the results for necessary correction on the continuous blow down (C.B.D).
    • Supervising cooling tower personnel and the analysis of cooling water.
    • Coordinating with the shift process (production) superintendent, shift in charges for both boiler and power house, and the maintenance crew on water usage and related matters.
    • Supervising effluent treatment plant personnel, operations, and the water analysis.
    • Preparing daily production reports both on the system and on hardware.
    • Ensuring compliance with OH&SMS, FSMS, EMS, and QMS responsibilities.

    Requirements 

    • Candidates should possess a B-Tech/BE/BSc/HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Water Resources, Chemical Engineering, or Science Laboratory Technology.
    • Possession of a professional certificate will be considered an added advantage.
    • Applicants should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a water plant or food industry.
    • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are required.

    Program Operations Manager (ADF)

    Description

    The Program Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising project execution to efficiently transform inputs into outputs. This role includes procurement, managing relationships with stakeholders, and enhancing resource sustainability. The Operations Team, which the manager leads, supports various departments by designing, implementing, and managing operational processes. Each Program Operations Manager oversees a specific area, identifying needs, co-designing strategies with management, and ensuring effective training, monitoring, and continuous improvement of programs.

    Requirements

    • Strong project management or organizational skills
    • In-depth understanding of programming issues and policy work at state, national and international levels and excellent knowledge and experience of program planning, reviews, monitoring and evaluation is essential.
    • Excellent language skills in English, including the ability to compose, edit, analyse and report using complex information.
    • Proven experience in cross-disciplinary collaboration with various stakeholders and a track record of successfully leading and managing complex work programs.
    • Ideal candidates should have experience identifying business challenges through data and observation and demonstrated proficiency analysing and managing large amounts of data.
    • Have good interpersonal and leadership skills.
    • Experience in scaling ideas and programs, working in ambitious organizations, and building and managing teams across countries.

    Effluent Treatment Plant Operator (Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc.)

    Job Summary:

    • Ensuring plant functionality with downtime not exceeding 1% of available time.
    • Compliance with engineering safety standards.
    • Optimization of plant operations to meet established production goals.
    • Judicious use of materials in line with budget allocations.
    • Ensuring 100% statutory and safety compliance related to the process.

     

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Operating and monitoring the effluent treatment system.
    • Recording and tracking plant and equipment operational data, including meter and gauge readings.
    • Cleaning, maintaining, and inspecting equipment to ensure all systems are functioning properly.
    • Collaborating with top management to determine best practices, equipment upgrades, and other aspects of operation to enhance cost-effectiveness and eco-friendly impact on the system.
    • Conducting routine water sample analysis to ascertain conformity.
    • Ensuring pump maintenance and efficiency for optimum delivery.
    • Ensuring compliance with OH&SMS, FSMS, EMS, and QMS responsibilities.

    Requirements:

    • Candidates should hold a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering fields.
    • Possession of a safety certification will be considered an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a water plant and food industry is required.

    Demineralizer Plant Operator (Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc.)

    Job Summary:

    • Ensuring plant functionality with downtime not exceeding 1% of available time.
    • Adherence to engineering safety standards.
    • Optimization of plant operations to meet established production goals.
    • Judicious use of materials in line with budget allocations.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Operating the demineralization plant and the reverse osmosis plant.
    • Balancing the plants in water production.
    • Producing high-quality DM and RO water for boiler use.
    • Regenerating resins using acid and alkali, with close monitoring of their tank levels.
    • Recirculating membranes and performing cleaning as needed.
    • Coordinating with other maintenance crew as necessary.
    • Coordinating with the water treatment plant operator regarding treated tank levels.
    • Coordinating with the boiler house regarding make-up water levels.
    • Maintaining chemical dosing pumps, air compressors, transfer pumps, and other auxiliaries.
    • Ensuring compliance with OH&SMS, FSMS, EMS, and QMS responsibilities.

    Requirements:

    • Candidates should hold a National Diploma in Biochemical Sciences, Science Laboratory Technology, Water Resources, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Possession of a safety certification will be considered an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a water plant and food industry is required.
    • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are necessary.
