    Team Lead, Market Risk

    Job Description

    • As an independent control function of the Bank, the Risk Management Department aims to enable the Bank to make informed decisions and ensure that the risk policies approved by the Bank are duly implemented and followed.
    • The Bank is looking for candidates to integrate the Market Risk Team, responsible for the measurement, monitoring, control and reporting of the Bank’s market risk.

    Responsibilities
    Reporting to the Head of Market Risk the candidate will:

    • Work as a key resource to the head of market risk assisting with the management of the market risk control function in the pursuit of itstargets 
    • Assist in the planning and implementation of the market risk policies, market risk management framework and internal controls, and ensure its compliance by the different business units;
    • Participate in definition and preparation of supporting documents for the different executive committees;  Identify emerging risks and control issues
    • Take ownership of key responsibilities, and be a problem solver
    • Lead and manage the implementation of the new IRRBB framework requirements and internal governance, and oversee the regulatory submission processes
    • Lead and manage projects related with the Bank’s VaR engine
    • Assist in the market risk quantification under the ICAAP process
    • Assist in the implementation of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book regulation
    • Participate in the market risk capital requirements calculation process under current regulatory frameworks
    •  Oversee the daily capture, monitor, control and reporting of the Bank’s market risk and ensure these are reported accurately
    • Ensure detailed understanding of all P&L and risk drivers.

    Profile

    • Experience of at least 5 years in similar functions
    • Degree in Economics, Finance, Management, Maths orsimilar
    • Post-graduate or Master degree in Markets, Financial Instruments or Finance is strongly preferred  Fluency in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Excel to maintain, improve and develop reporting tools
    • SQL and Excel VBA programming skills is a plus
    • Good understanding of Market Risk concepts and metrics (VaR, EVE/NII, scenario analysis, risk sensitivities, etc.), and governance frameworks
    • Strong knowledge of Capital Market activities and main instruments
    • Ability to manipulate, analyze, summarize and present data/results
    • Strong quantitative, analytic and problem-solving skills
    • The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, self-starter and communicates easily and openly.

    • Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as a team

    Market Risk Analyst

    Job Description

    • The position is primarily responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting market risk arising from Treasury activities.
    • This is a role to provide support to the Market Risk function of the Bank. The ideal candidate will provide oversight on Treasury activities, conduct statistical analysis, and design and develop Management Information Systems for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting market risk. It is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their career both in the market and at risk.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain the production of regular Management Information (MI) to support the monitoring and evaluation of market risk Key Risk Indicators.
    • Conduct surveillance of Treasury activities to ensure compliance with approved parameters for trading and the banking book.
    • Report on market risk exposures derived from Treasury activities.
    • Perform development, validation, research, and other data analytics tasks.
    • Measure market risk appetite parameters, portfolio composition, trends, and concentrations, and report breaches where relevant.
    • Liaise with other departments of the Bank as required, such as Origination, Market and Credit Risk, Regulatory Compliance, and Finance.
    • Assess new regulatory policies and their impact on market risk exposures.
    • Back-test Value-at-Risk (VaR) to assess profit or loss and ensure the effectiveness of the model.
    • Support the Head of Portfolio Risk Management in the annual review of Market Risk policies.
    • Prepare Market Risk Trading Limits.

    Requirements

    • A quantitative degree in one of the following fields is required: Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or any applicable quantitative field that requires heavy use of computational mathematics and/or statistical techniques
    • Highly numerate with strong academic experience in data analysis.
    • Ideally 1 to 2 years of work experience in market or risk analysis and reporting.
    • Understanding of key risk factors for Treasury Trading (FX and Bonds), Credit Trading, and how they are measured.
    • Some exposure to either market or credit risk will be an advantage.
    • Advanced and proficient Excel skills are required, including the use of macros and VLOOKUPs.
      Excellent skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Effective Communication Skills including the ability to document and present results suitable for relevant audience
    • Strong analytical skills.

    • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
    • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
    • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
