    Team Lead, Quality Assurance and Control

    Purpose of the Job (Brief)

    • Reporting to the Team Lead Quality Assurance and Control in the Infrastructure Division of ipNX, The Quality Assurance and Control Officer will be responsible for the Outside Plant Quality Checks
    • You will be responsible for the Direct Field Quality Checks and snags reporting and clearing for all Project Deployment and Operations Activities in the Outside Plant and provide the necessary escalations to the HOD Infrastructure Quality when required.
    • You will aid the Team Lead Quality Assurance and Control to provide up to date statuses of quality audits and acceptance testing of completed and on going projects within the Infrastructure Division
    • You are tasked with ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence during all levels of engagements with customers and stakeholders, proactively providing support and input when required.
    • In addition to the above, You are also required to build capacity and develop teams working with you.

    Key Activities
    Network Infrastructure:

    • Carry Out Spot checks on all Project Deployment and Operations Activities within the Division as required by the Division. These checks include snag lists and snag clearing.
    • Escalate all standards and specifications issues noted in the field to the QA/QC Analyst for further actions
    • Provide the necessary field interpretations of the ipNX standards and specifications during project initiation stages.

    Internal:

    • Provide weekly quality status reporting on all on going projects and operations activities within the Division
    • Provide Quality Assurance of all assigned Survey Contractors work and makes the necessary recommendations.

    Asset Management:

    • Updates all As Maintained Records for the Division

    People Management - Training:

    • Build and maintain a healthy relationship with enterprise customers and stakeholders during all audit and quality related activities
    • Drive internal and external training initiatives for team members.

    Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

    • Education: B.Eng in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering
    • Professional Certifications: CFOT is an added advantage
    • Technical: Good Knowledge of Fiber Turnkey Deployments and Civil Works and Materials standards
    • Technology: Conversant with Microsoft Office Tools, AutoCAD/Visio, A good knowledge of GIS will be an added advantage
    • Communication: Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills.

    Work Experience:

    • 3 years experience in Turnkey Fiber Deployment and Civil Works standards and specifications
    • Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project
    • Conversant with the Use of CAD and GIS
    • Strong network engineering background is a must.
    • Osp background is desirable.

    Technical Support / Solution Engineer

    Purpose of the Job

    • The Solutions & Research Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient service delivery to the customers and ensure customer satisfaction for all new services and support related service.
    • He will have the responsibility of contributing towards the research, design and implementation of functionality that will propel ipNX products and market-leading solution to the next level.
    • Also, he is to Provide technical support through collaborative partnership to deliver high quality and reliable network performance. Deliverables

    Key Activities
    Corporate/FOS Incident Management:

    • Restore service failures for Corporate Customers within 4 hours of its occurrence.
    • Understand implementation and integration of technical hardware and software solutions.
    • Provide high level system design and the development of proofs of solution and value.
    • Restore service failures for Retail Customers within 24 hours of its occurrence.
    • Ensure Research & Solutions management, system requirement analysis, option and scenario evaluation are carried out.
    • Demonstrate solution-based thinking – leading to quick problem/issue resolution on a day-to-day basis, responding to queries, updating on progress.
    • Incident Management Communication: Provide prompt feedback for input into the OTRS Application with information relating to activities being carried out to resolve customer service incidents.
    • Preventive Maintenance: Plan and execute nodes/segment that require preventive maintenance on the network.

    • Prepare the as-maintained documentation within region/subregion managed for the O&M Unit.
    • Monitor network performance and investigate anomalies in the system and resolve issue.
    • Optimize network uptime and promptly repair network failures.

    • Prepare and implement Method of Procedures (MOPs) and update network documentation based on changes in network topology.
    • Research and Report Management
    • Investigate, design, plan, and coordinate implementing infrastructure technology for IT networks.
    • Document and communicate / escalate critical issues and recommending quick solutions to minimize business disruption due to infrastructure support issues.
    • Drafting of progress reports which must be clear, concise, comprehensive, and easy-to-understand by stakeholders and key decision makers.
    • Contribute towards prospect specific inquiries/scoping projects around implementation, Support models, technical configuration, security and/or data integration.
    • Execute solutions and use cases that leverage ipNX product integrations that generate business value.
    • Research actively the applications of new theories, techniques, and technologies that can drive innovation.
    • Critically assess the performance and impact of current products, suggesting and implementing adaptations where appropriate.
    • Work with Engineering teams in order to facilitate technology transfer from research to product.
    • Perform Monitoring, Backup and Recovery Procedures
    • Adhere to controls to provide security for operating systems, software, and data.
    • Maintain technical documentation and database information for the all networks and circuits.
    • Manage maintenance and repair programs, making sure systems don't break down.
    • Ensure new equipment meets regulatory and client’s requirements.
    • Participate in relevant training webinars to understand recent release functionality, demonstration environment configuration and behavior.
    • Monitor and analyze system performance, such as network traffic, security, and capacity.

    Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

    • B.Eng in Computer Engineering, Electrical Electronics or any IT related Degree (minimum of 2.2 / Upper Credit)
    • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate); CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
    • M.Sc involving Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics or similar fields
    • Industry Certifications in AWS, CISSP, CCDP, CCNP, and CCIE
    • Customer centric and stakeholders management
    • Good LAN/WAN network design and implementation skills
    • Ability to solve complex problems in the shortest available time using honed analytical skills

    • Basic experience with basic configurations of enterprise or carrier grade networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, encoders, optics, and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing(DWDM)
    • Previous commercial engineering experience
    • Experience in technical consulting and customer handling
    • Proven experience in data analytics, statistical methods and models
    • Experience and knowledge related to different research methodologies and comfort in how these approaches would work
    • Experience working in a Service Provider environment and providing technical support to end customer solutions

    Wireless Network Engineer

    Purpose of the Job (Brief)

    • Reporting to the Team Lead, Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi Project/Systems Engineer is responsible for designing and deploying carrier grade and reliable Wi-Fi network infrastructure for enterprise customers in accordance with set SLAs. You are also responsible for overseeing the ‘support and maintenance’ of the installed Wi-Fi network infrastructure within ipNX (Core) as well as deployments for Enterprise Customers (Access).
    • You will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all activities required to fulfil and maintain enterprise Wi-Fi Services to customers. These include: carrying out extensive surveys to first of all identify the optimal equipment and solutions for delivering the requested services, creating the design diagrams, initiating and completing the procurement process, carrying out the actual installations as projects as well as the maintenance of these installations.
    • You are equally tasked with ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence during all levels of engagements with customers – including during surveys, service delivery (installations) as well as during support calls/visits.
    • In addition to the above, You are also required to provide routine in-house training where required.

    • Carry out Wi-Fi surveys and provide accompanying reports with the most optimal and cost-effective solutions that meets the business objectives and set standards (SLAs)
    • Deploy, Configure, Optimize and Monitor Wi-Fi infrastructure for enterprise customers as per agreed set standards and SLAs
    • Recommend areas of improvements, product enhancements incl. new features and services that meets present and future needs of the customer

    • Technical: Practical Knowledge of Wireless Technology and Installations (any of: RF, Radio, Microwave, GSM, LTE or Wi-Fi and Base Stations)

    • A good grasp of technical installations (wireless & wireline), the use of applicable tools and willingness to learn more
    • Good understanding of relevant wireless technology (hardware) and other network connectivity equipment including routers and switches
    • Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project
    • Must be comfortable with MS Visio for drawing survey and network design diagrams.
