    Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

    Role Summary

    • A Lead Engineer within the Services Engineering team must be able to interpret a customer's specification/requirements to produce a practical and cost effective design/solution to meet the design or maintenance requirements.
    • They should ensure that the design is correctly transformed into engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, test procedures and ensure manufacturability of design.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Interpret customer specifications and identify equipment required to satisfy specifications.
    • Ensure that equipment is designed in accordance with current HSE legislation.
    • Prepare and approve factory acceptance test procedures, Operational & Maintenance procedures and inspection/ test reports.
    • Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: risk analysis, failure analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Design Reviews, Design Calculations to establish a full Design Verification Package (DVP) to satisfy the verification plan.
    • Ensure DVP has third party or independent review.
    • Check and approve layout and detail drawings.
    • Review/disposition survey reports.
    • Establish repair practices and engineering repair workscopes.
    • Adhere to and meet Engineering work schedules. Liaise with Sales and Manufacturing departments and provide technical support as required.
    • Provide field support as required.Provide engineering support for the service of installed Subsea Production Equipment (SSPE) provide options for customers on refurbishment/ repair of products.
    • Ensure all work is conducted with integrity and in an environmentally and safe manner.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • BEng Hons Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Strong knowledge of materials, welding and heat treatment.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and design codes.
    • Knowledge of Engineering design theory and manufacturing techniques.
    • Desire to provide world class service to customers by aligning global teams under the service platform.
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% of working time.

    • The Regional Sales Leader is accountable to grow sales revenue and margins for a specific GEHC product/product range or segment within an assigned geographical area within a Global Region.
    • The Regional Sales Leader drives a coherent product differentiation and commercial strategy for their assigned product/product range or segment and optimizes the use of resources to cover market potential for his/her product/product range or segment in order to achieve the Operating plan.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Accountable to achieve the quarterly and yearly Product/Solution/Service
    • P&L Operating Plan targets (Orders, Sales, Contribution Margin, Base Costs and Operating Margin and Cash (where applicable) for assigned geographical area
    • Accountable for timely and accurate forecasting of pipeline and sales per the normal reporting cycles within the Product Business unit and Geographical Region

    Plant Service Engineer (Hydro) - Western & Eastern Africa

    Role Summary

    • The Hydro Plant Support Engineer will lead the site service activities for hydropower plants in nominated SSA countries.
    • He/she is the primary liaison / point of contact between GE Hydro/Service Leadership, GE Hydro/Engineering, project management, supply chain, the site team, sale team and customers.
    • Scope includes ensuring the completeness of the deliverable solutions of GE Hydro services.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Obtain information on hydro power plant assets & setup, mainly on E&M, for the designated areas such as hydro turbine & generator technologies, existing DCS, governing, excitation and other mechanical & electrical BoP systems including customer purchasing plans and Maintenance budget
    • Actively visit customer’s plants (02 plants par month/per customer at least), participate in customer meetings and connect customer needs with our products’ available options and solutions
    • Deliver timely / accurate responses to customer technical inquiries including quick quote proposal and execution (for transactional opportunities) leveraging GE Hydro COEs supports - Sales, Com Ops and COE engineers
    • Provide hands on technical support to customers and field teams for general E&M services and specific upgrades
    • Partner with GE Hydro/SSA sale team for technical discussion with customers
    • Establish and maintain relationships with external and internal parties to ensure that customer requirements are ultimately understood and achieved
    • Lead and manage cross-functional teams and coordinating with GE Hydro/Project Manager in executing contract at site
    • Facilitate the configuration of control software and parameters based upon the site requirements / specific unit configurations (for control plant support)
    • Liaise between customers and GE Hydro/Engineering regarding balance of plant equipment for configuring interfaces, safety protections and control (for control plant support)

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college
    • Minimum of 10 years in Hydropower Electro-mechanical field services i.e. maintenance, installation and commissioning or manufacturing
    • Minimum of 03 years in engineering
    • Strong knowledge and relationship with local customers at Plant level
    • Ability and willingness to travel more than 50% of the time
    • A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required (please indicate clearly on your resume)
    • Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical components of Hydropower,
