    Corporate Strategy Officer

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • Design and development of the long term corporate and business strategy for the company
    • Investigates and researches new business opportunities that would help the company to take informed strategic decisions.
    • Analyze potentials for opportunities to drive strategic value delivery
    • Assist in managing strategic initiatives.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Track and manage the alignment of individual departmental objects and performance measures to the corporate. 
    • Seek the input, collaboration and information of all the functions involved in the key functions of the Strategic Planning
    • Provide support to departments and business units in the design and implementation of objectives and alignment to the corporate
    • Work with other departments to generate departmental performance reports and cascaded goals aligned with corporate.
    • Generate reports
    • Monitor Dashboards monthly to ensure that deviations are promptly reported, and corrective actions are identified
    • Conduct organizational reviews based on SWOT & PEST analysis
    • Work with Petroleum Engineering and Budget and planning to rank projects and advise on the best fit for the corporation.
    • Report of departmental and business unit’s performance
    • Provide support the use of a consistent project planning methodology throughout the corporation
    • Analyzing and documenting strategy during annual strategy round
    • Assist in development of expansion strategies
    • Create and maintain models used to assess the Oil and Gas markets, trends and potential impact of change.

    Accountabilities:

    • Ensure that strategies and strategic ideas are implemented, monitored and reviewed.
    • Maintain the corporate scorecard and dashboard.
    • Undertake detailed data collection and analysis on a range of internal and external data in order to inform senior management decision making
    • Design and undertake research studies that analyse strategic issues and business related challenges so that decision making is informed by facts and comprehensive analysis
    • Produce comprehensive, targeted and insightful reports/presentations that summarise findings and recommendations in order to inform senior management decision making
    • Act as a professional resource in project management, leading project managers to implement best practices framework
    • Undertake personal development necessary to maintain leading-edge knowledge of analysis techniques and external trends in the Oil and Gas Industry

    • Appropriate analysis techniques are applied producing focused and insightful reports
    • Reports and presentations effectively communicate key findings in a way that is appropriate to the target audience
    • New and relevant knowledge and skills can be applied
    • Increase effectiveness in project management
    • Agreed objectives and measures are completed and actively tracked. Proposed solutions are innovative, achievable and based on good evidence

    Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications required:

    • MBA and/or equivalent business experience gained in a broad business context is an added advantage.
    • High Degree of confidence with data and numerical analysis
    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills including ability to present and defend position in front of an audience
    • Good negotiation skills
    • Self starter with initiative and good time management skills
    • Project management experience (practitioner certification desirable)
    • Working knowledge in Oil & Gas Industry operations 
    • Team player, Analytical, logical, problem solving and resilient 
    • Self-motivated and goal-oriented 
    • Confidence, charisma, and excellent presentation skills.
