    Dentist

    Description

    • Life as an Army Dentist can be an amazing experience. There’s travel, challenges, sports, training and the freedom to perform high-quality dental work.
    • Looking after the oral health of Army personnel all over the world is the job of a Dental Officer. The Royal Army Dental Corps can be found everywhere from large, nine-chair practices on huge Army bases to small mobile surgeries on operations. You’ll experience plenty of both during your career.
    • There’s also plenty of independence. You choose the treatment you think is best – not what the patient can afford. What’s more, you’ll get a non-contributory pension, further professional training and the chance to do sports and Adventurous Training. And if you're currently a dental student you may eligible for the Army’s Undergraduate Bursary scheme.
    • The Royal Army Dental Corps has taken care of the Army’s dental health for more than a century and continues to provide high-quality dental care to the Army both in barracks and on operations. Wherever in the world the Army operates, you will find the Dental Officers and Dental Nurses of the RADC.

    Entry Requirements

    • Age: From 17 years & 9 months to 36 years & 11 months
    • Qualifications: Qualified dentist with active registration with the General Dental Council (GDC). Can also be at the point of completing dentist training.

    Basic physical fitness assessment:

    • Mid Thigh Pull 50kg
    • Medicine Ball Throw 2.7m
    • MSFT (beep test) level 5.8.

    Pay & Benefits

    • You'll earn a minimum salary of £70,000 after training.
