    Finance Officer

    Location: Sango Ota, Ogun

    Job Description

    • The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
    • This role requires a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will ensure our financial practices are sound, transparent, and aligned with our strategic goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with senior management.
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
    • Monitor financial performance against budget and report variances.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and organizational policies.
    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare for audits.
    • Manage cash flow and oversee investment activities.
    • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures.
    • Provide financial advice and insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Collaborate with program managers to ensure financial alignment with project goals.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
    • Previous experience working with a non-governmental organization (NGO) is required.
    • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulations.
    • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
