    Generator Operator

    Job location: Mowe-Ibafo, Ogun State

    Industry/Sector: Manufacturing/FMCG

    Responsibilities

    • Control, operate, and maintain generators used to generate electric power. Includes auxiliary equipment operations.
    • Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power, or to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations.
    • Control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feed water heaters, filters, and chlorinators, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, and auxiliary power.
    • Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, and voltage of electricity supplied.
    • Make adjustments or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints; report any needs for major repairs.
    • Replenish electrolytes in batteries and oil in voltage transformers, and reset tripped electric relays.
    • Start or stop generators, auxiliary pumping equipment and other power plant equipment, and connect or disconnect equipment from circuits.
    • Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment such as generators, pumps, and compressors in order to prevent equipment failure or deterioration.
    • Examine and test electrical power distribution machinery and equipment, using testing devices.
    • Receive outage calls and call in necessary personnel during power outages and emergencies

    Requirements;

    • ND/TRADE TEST 1, 2, 3/Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum of 5 years working experience with generators, and associated electrical systems
    • Relevant experience in Generator Operation
    • Must be well aware of Operation of Engine, Alternator and Control Panels, knowhow of Specific Electrical Switchgear and Engine components
    • Generator Trainings done from reputed institutes.
