    HSSE Officer

    Your Role

    • As an HSSE Officer, you are responsible for ensuring compliance to quality, health and safety procedures and regulations within all operations and locations.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in conducting safety meetings across all locations
    • Keep up to date with industry Occupational Health and Safety regulations
    • Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, community groups and consultants to resolve and give advice on relevant incidents (i.e. fire, large spills, contaminations, injury)
    • Monitor activities in all business locations to ensure compliance with all HSSE procedures
    • Prepare reports on job hazard analysis and health & safety plans, highlighting the inherent hazards associated with work activities
    • Respond promptly to accident/fire/oil spillage reports, escalating major issues to the HSSE Manager
    • Conduct in depth investigations of accidents and prepare reports for the HSSE supervisor
    • Monitors all staff in Operations Department to ensure that they make use of safety gadgets, clothing and equipment
    • Performs regular safety inspections in departments and collates periodic safety report for submission to the HSSE Lead
    • Administers HSSE training for staff e.g. fire drills to members of staff in conjunction with HSSE Lead.

    Experiences & Requirements

    • Minimum of three (3) years cognate experience within the Downstream Oil & Gas Industry
    • Minimum of First Degree in Sciences or Engineering related discipline is required
    • Relevant professional certifications e.g. The Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals or National Board for Occupational Safety and Health.
