    Project Assistant - GSLA (14 Openings)

    Job Summary:

    The Project Assistant - GSLA will provide administrative and operational support to the GSLA program. This role involves assisting in the coordination of project activities, supporting GSLA groups, collecting and managing data, and ensuring that project objectives are met. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about community development and financial empowerment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Project Coordination and Support:

    • Assist the GSLA Officer/Project Manager in planning, organizing, and executing GSLA project activities.
    • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, and meetings with GSLA groups and community members.
    • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining project files.

    Group Support and Training:

    • Assist in the mobilization and formation of GSLA groups within the community.
    • Support the GSLA Officer in training group members on savings, loans, and basic financial management.
    • Conduct follow-up visits to GSLA groups to monitor their progress and provide ongoing support.

    Data Collection and Reporting:

    • Collect and compile data from GSLA groups on savings, loans, attendance, and other relevant indicators.
    • Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into the project database and assist in generating reports.
    • Support the GSLA Officer in preparing progress reports for management and donors.

    Community Engagement:

    • Engage with community members, leaders, and stakeholders to promote the GSLA program and encourage participation.
    • Assist in organizing community events and awareness campaigns related to financial literacy and savings groups.
    • Address basic inquiries and concerns from GSLA members and refer complex issues to the GSLA Officer.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness of GSLA groups and program outcomes.
    • Assist in conducting surveys, interviews, and other data collection methods to gather feedback from GSLA participants.
    • Support the analysis of data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for program improvement.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum of [2] years of experience in project coordination, microfinance, community development, or a related role.
    • Familiarity with Group Savings and Loans Association (GSLA) methodologies and principles is an advantage.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse community groups.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data management tools.
    • Fluency in [languages required] is an asset.
