Job Profile
The position exists to guarantee the product from the manufacturing processes and resolve customer claims speedily and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Process, Product, and Installation Audits/Sampling/Testing
- Check that all applicable processes (including installation) comply in respect of the requirements of
- ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System or any other required standards/policies such as for Safety, Health,
and Environment. These must be performed routinely by means of process and patrol audits.
- Ensure that all documents and procedures are available and that these are be approved and controlled copies.
- Use the Quality Product Sampling Procedure to sample completed products destined for Customers and
installation. The required inspections and tests must be performed on the products for conformance to the
required test specifications. Where test and sampling specifications are not available, these must be written with
the help of the respective specialists.
- Use the Quality Installation Sampling Procedure to sample installation sites. The required inspections and tests
must be performed on the installation sites in conformance to the required test specifications. Where test and
sampling specifications are not available, these must be written with the help of the respective specialists.
- If a non-compliance is found in any of the requirements above, then NCR’s must be raised for corrective and
- preventive actions using the NCR systems and processes in place. Ensure that all NCR’s are completed
accurately and closed prior to due date.
- If any serious non-compliances are found in sampling and audits such as tampering, theft, etc., then these must
be urgently escalated to Management.
- Ensure that all required accreditations and certifications are valid and renewed prior to expiry.
- Hosting of routine meetings and feedback sessions with all relevant stakeholders on areas of concern.
- Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of problems
- Controlling all scrap material generated throughout all processes
- Interaction with all external Test Houses to ensure that all products are being routinely tested and addressing
concernst hereof.
Test Equipment, Tools, and PPE Management
- Ensure that Equipment, Tools, and PPE are compliant, available, and in use at all times.
- Install, commission, and verify test equipment as per procedures or when needed.
- Conduct repeatability and reliability testing on Test Equipment.
- Maintain the Equipment and Tools Calibration and Maintenance System, ensuring that these are correctly and
- routinely calibrated and maintained.
Customer Complaints, Investigations, Repairs, and Training
- Ensure that there is a system for logging Customer Complaints and that this system is in operation at all times
- Analyse all Customer Complaints routinely and categorise all complaints. Investigate those requiring
investigations and ensure that all actions are taken by the relevant areas to act and close Customer Complaints
- timeously.
- Lead the implementation of corrective and preventative actions to quality issues once the root-cause analysis is
completed.
- Undertake special projects as required
- Provide training to all stakeholders in your field of expertise where required
- Undertake continuous training and development for areas requiring such actions
- Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
Report Writing, Data Logging, and Data Analysi
- Ensure that all data are being accumulated and are logged accurately on a central database.
- Ensure that all data are routinely backed up.
- Analyse all data and generate accurate reports leading to immediate, corrective, and preventive actions.
- Use the analysed data for Statistical Process Controls where relevant.
- Share all reports to the respective stakeholders.
- Respond to Customer Complaints raised using formalised response letters.
Key Performance Indicators Management
- Produce management feedback on performance in areas of responsibility
- Write simple reports and provide information to management
- Be aware and work to achieve the targets of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Requirements
- Electronics/electrical engineering degree or diploma
- Quality certificate is advantageous
- At least 5 years’ experience electronic development and manufacturing
- Valid drivers’ licence and own reliable vehicle
- Knowledge of pre-payment and revenue management products
- Knowledge of validation and qualification processes
- Knowledge of electronic manufacturing techniques and design principles
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IEC and other relevant standards for electricity prepayment equipment.
- Knowledge of Test Equipment commissioning, calibration and maintenance.
- Knowledge of electronic product and equipment functioning and testing
- Ability to read circuit diagrams and conduct fault-finding
