    Commercial Director

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The role holder is the owner of LS Scientific Limited's commercial performance in Nigeria, responsible for the P&L of the company, and handles all teams related to sales and revenue generation, marketing, and commercial planning.
    • The Commercial Director is the main point of contact for business partners, OEMs, and the MD when it comes to assessing LS Scientific Limited’s performance trajectory versus the business plan.
    • This position provides oversight to the Sales team in setting the direction, and market strategy, enforcing LS policies, driving best practices, ensuring complete customer satisfaction, and meeting the LS Nigeria business goals.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategy & Leadership

    • Support the shared vision and act as a change agent by utilizing various change management techniques to enhance business processes and operational excellence.
    • Define and execute revenue and commercial strategy for the organization under the management-approved P&L objective.
    • Provide strategic direction and plans for the company with regard to all commercial functions including sales, and marketing.
    • Represent the Company and develop relationships with the OEMs, government, institutions, and business leaders.
    • Maintain working relationships with government institutions, senior management from industry-related partners, manufacturers, and counterparts from the broader quality control solutions community.

    Sales

    • Develop sales strategy and business plan to drive business growth and the achievement of set goals including increasing sales, market share, and profitability; cascade it down to quarterly and monthly sales operations plan.
    • Responsible for managing the entire sales pipeline i.e., managing the sales process from order to invoicing; this is achieved by interacting with all relevant departments within the Company.
    • Drive LS Scientific Nigeria sales performance from account and revenue planning(strategy) through execution (client meetings and business development cycle)
    • Keep abreast of economic, industry, market, and regulatory trends, ascertain their (potential) impact on the business, and advise management; accordingly, develop complementary strategies or initiatives to strengthen the company’s market share position in the market.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and technical departments, to ensure a unified approach toward business development goals.
    • Regularly assess and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and devising action plans to optimize results.

    Marketing

    • Provide leadership to the marketing department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies, and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the goals of the marketing plan.
    • Assume overall responsibility for developing the annual marketing plan for the organization; for strategic market planning; market research programs; and control of the marketing budget.
    • Brand Management: Oversee the brand identity and positioning for LS Scientific Limited, ensuring consistency and adherence to corporate guidelines across all marketing materials and communication channels.

    Customer Experience

    • Build and operate efficient customer-centric customer experience processes to ensure seamless interaction between customers and the organization.
    • Lead efforts to broaden the scope of market segments served by LS Scientific Limited, creating marketing flexibility and instilling responsive and timely delivery of LS Scientific services.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

    • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Accounting, Economics, or any related field
    • A master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance, or Accounting and additional advanced training relating to management is highly desirable.
    • Minimum of 10 years post-graduation experience with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role
    • Relevant commercial leadership experience in negotiating and running a financially profitable business.
    • Commercial acumen: Ability to identify, quantify, and harness opportunities. Be imaginative in finding solutions to issues, anticipating trends and opportunities, and pursuing opportunities for the business.
    • Demonstrable experience in managing operational performance within financial budgets
    • Must have an execution mindset with ROI mentality. Understand cost-to-serve analysis and ROI workings.
    • Data-driven decision-making: should be adept at leveraging data and analytics to drive commercial decisions.
    • Collaboration and leadership: possess strong collaboration and leadership skills to drive cross-functional initiatives.
    • Good communication and managerial skills: Ability to create focus and clarity for the team, with clear communication on ongoing activities to provide context.

    Sales Manager - VELP

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop sales strategy and business plan to drive VELP factory business growth in alignment with the achievement of LS Scientific Limited's set goals including increasing sales, market share, and profitability; cascade it down to quarterly and monthly sales operations plan.
    • Responsible for managing the entire sales pipeline i.e., managing the sales process from order to invoice; this is achieved by interacting with all relevant departments within the Company.
    • Drive the penetration of VELP factory offerings in Nigeria from account and revenue planning (strategy) through execution (client meetings and business development cycle)
    • Keep abreast of economic, industry, market, and regulatory trends, ascertain their (potential) impact on the business, and advise management; accordingly, develop complementary strategies or initiatives to strengthen the company’s market share position in the Market.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and technical departments, to ensure a unified approach toward business development goals.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry influencers.
    • Regularly assess and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and devising action plans to optimize results.
    • Understand clients' unique requirements and align our offerings to cater to their specific demands.
    • Work with the finance team to achieve the goals for revenue, margin, sales/pipeline planning, pipeline execution, deal review, pricing, and negotiation strategies.
    • Up to date and accurate management of the ERP as it relates to the sales, to enhance the successful closure of deals.
    • Effectively communicate value propositions to customers through presentations and proposals
    • Ensure that a reasonable percentage of customer inquiries are converted into orders that will be profitable to the company.
    • Generate periodic reports on sales forecasts and market feedback on competitor’s activity and offerings.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • A Bachelor’s degree in science-related courses is required
    • Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
    • 5-8 years cognate working experience in a Sales / Business Development role.
    • Previous experience promoting VELP factory offerings in Nigeria.
    • Must have an execution mindset with ROI mentality. Understand ROI workings.
    • Good communication and managerial skills: Ability to create focus and clarity for the team, with clear communication on ongoing activities to provide context.
    • Ability to successfully set up meetings and perform cold calls.
    • Strong communication and ability to present concepts in understandable form.
    • Proven effective judgment and reasoning.
    • Proven Track Record in Sales Performance.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and data.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • People skills: Ability to coach, develop, and support people to perform.
