    Zonal Project Managers

    The Zonal Project Manager will be reporting to the Senior Program Manager  and is responsible for the management and coordination of the programmes in respective zones. He/She will be supervising, monitoring and reporting on all zonal interventions. He will coordinate all administrative procedures at zonal level and be the contact person at zonal level. He develops, monitors, evaluates, implements, designs and sets strategies in line with the project's goals and objectives.

    He will be based in one of the regions of the zone. He will be responsible for the coordination of

    project activities at the field level in two/ three regions depending on the scope. The Zonal

    manager facilitates, implements planned activities, monitors, liaises with Regional and Council health management teams and other partners in the respective regions. The Zonal Project Manager participates in planning and reporting project interventions. Will be based in one of the zonal regions.

    Deliverables

    Project startup, field level project planning and implementation

    • Under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager for Nigeria, Develop good relationships and partnership with various stakeholders at the respective zonal level such as other NGOs, local government authorities and relevant Ministries.
    • Setting targets/indicators: Contribute to ensuring that projects have clear targets and indicators for reporting before implementation starts.
    • Prepare project work plans: Develop project work plans and ensure that all project work plans are in place, implemented and are updated quarterly.
    • Share project work plans with stakeholders in the field: Enable project implementers to have a clear picture of timing and content of specific activities to be implemented
    • Participate in weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings to review project activities and work plans: Update field work plans through review meetings.
    • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, budgets, and expenditures.
    • Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings.
    • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings especially at field / on ground level.
    • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings. Keeping program work plans organized, updated and ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Determining project changes and ensuring that the necessary team is informed.
    • Providing administrative support as needed.
    • Undertaking project tasks as required.
    • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
    • Facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
    • Innovate and prepare cost effective community engagement activities
    • Work closely with all AGYW networks at community level including other gatekeepers on ground.
    • Support the GEN brand and youth advisory groups as needed.
    •  Manage implementation of the YAPs (status calls, set work plans, timelines, contracting & invoicing).
    • Compile the monthly timesheet tracker & liaise with finance on timely payments of panel members.
    • Lead, organize and facilitate monthly youth panel team meetings.
    • Support the development of youth panel members monthly workplans.
    • Manage 2-way feedback mechanisms between Girl Effect staff and young people, for example anonymous feedback boxes, weekly reflection surveys and monthly individual performance feedback.

    Monitoring and evaluation of the project

    • Maintain documentation/filing: Ensure all relevant project documents are clearly located both in hard and soft copy.
    • Data collection and analysis: Ensure that implementation includes data collection that answers all the project indicators. Track progress of the project on a monthly and quarterly basis.
    • Reporting against set targets/indicators: Prepare quarterly project report that answers all the set project targets and indicators.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports ad timely submission as per the reporting schedule
    • Work with the Monitoring and evaluation team and Project Manager to carry out project 

    Deliverables

    • Support field staff in project implementation and supportive supervision activities
    • Periodic tracking of progress and use the learnings to improve Zonal Office management
    • Representing Girl effect at zonal level: Act as a focal person that represents GE to all stakeholders at the respective zone
    • Represent GE in meetings/forums/ conferences organized at respective zones.

    Professional qualifications and experience

    • Master’s Degree in social sciences (MPH, epidemiology, sociology, community development etc.). Candidates without Master’s degree will be considered if they present demonstrated experience of working as project manager for a period of at least three years.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of project management cycle, Log Frame Analysis, work planning, reporting and Results-Based Management tools.
    • Experience working several donor fundings
    • At least 3 years’ experience on project/business management
    • Experience of designing, setting up, and/or closing down projects
    • Experience working on adolescent & youth sexual reproductive health, IEC and SBCC related activities
    • Experience on financial management of Donor funded projects
    • Experience working closely with other stakeholders including the Government at Regional, State and LGA levels.
    • Desirable: Experience of working on health-related/community development projects

    Creative Lead

    Girl Effect is looking for someone to lead the design and delivery of content, products, and branded experiences for adolescent girls and young women in Nigeria.

    The role will report directly to the Program lead, Nigeria and work closely with the global Create team at Girl Effect. The role requires in-depth collaboration with both internal technical experts and functions, and best-in-class external expertise - designers, filmmakers, technologists, content creators and producers - within Nigeria’s ever-evolving media landscape. The Creative Lead will deliver the brand experience that millions of adolescent girls and young women from vulnerable backgrounds want, love and need when it comes to their health, education and skilling choices. 

    Responsibilities

    You’ll need to make sure the Nigerian Create function is using the right people, processes and principles to produce great results, guiding and inspiring teams along the way. In this context, the role will need to be able to move, sometimes rapidly, from detailed, hands-on interrogations of scripts or product features to high-level discussions on the strategic direction of our work. The Creative and Content lead is a mediator and translator: translating complex human behaviors into blueprints for achievable products and ideas, ensuring the right channels, formats and creative concepts are used. You responsibilities on a day to day basis may include: 

    • Work with a dedicated in-house creative team and external suppliers to ensure that engaging, strategically relevant content is regularly being developed and delivered across all of the brand’s touchpoints  - social media, communities, analogue and digital media
    • Building on and evolving innovative ways in which to create and deliver content and product experiences that will deliver on the goals of the Country Brand and our Nigeria country strategy.
    • Oversee the Brand, Content and Product Creation Process for the Nigeria brand and any other products- working with technical experts and creators both in-house and out-sourced to create scripts, casting ideas, frameworks, and treatment designs that ensure that we are helping adolescent girls and young women from vulnerable contexts discover life-changing ways in which to navigate the complex challenges and opportunities they face
    • Own the annual budget for Creative delivery in Nigeria - supporting the Program lead in Nigeria in collaboration with the Programs team in initial budget creation, forecasts, and changes.
    • Lead the procurement and/or tender processes for external content creators and producers
    • Actively problem-solving and fire-fighting on production timelines, conflicting priorities, and external factors - ensuring Girl Effect processes are followed and streamlined 
    • Work closely with our safeguarding team to ensure safeguarding measures and youth participation efforts are integrated into the production process and/or the product campaign 
    • Work closely with the Marketing (Audience Acquisition) team to ensure we meaningfully reach and grow our  audiences. 
    • Ensure timeline management of the entire production process is done in a way that all stakeholders are sighted, and that pressure on delivery is minimized. 
    • Working closely with the global Create team and technical experts to evolve the content offerings to ensure they are delivering on key annual strategic goals and funder objectives. Key stakeholders include those working in Social & Behaviour Change Communication, Gender, Youth Participation, and Safeguarding.  
    • Understanding the learnings and data presented by the Impact team, and working with the Programme team and technical experts to improve the brand’s creative products and content basis this - being a key part of the MERL (monitoring, evaluation and learning) process

    Work Experience & Education 

    • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Creative Strategy and/or Video Production. Digital content production is important to have.

    • Strong interest and knowledge about content and trends across digital, movies, TV, series, short and long form content
    • An excellent portfolio that demonstrates deep integrated thinking and strong brand building capabilities, with an emphasis on video content
    • Strong current working relationships within the Nigerian creative community
    • Ability to interact meaningfully with people of diverse backgrounds, personalities, and expertise (e.g. programme leads in Nigeria, subject matters experts in Kenya, creative executives in India and internal functions in UK), backed by data when possible
    • Should be excited by technology and exploring content through products like chatbots, communities, blogs, etc.
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment while delivering outstanding results
    • Experience working with a diversity of cultures and a proven sensitivity to the challenges of low-income and marginalized populations.
    • Verbal and written proficiency in English is required; proficiency in one or more other local languages strongly preferred.
