    Senior Programme Officer (STILNN)

    Job Purpose

    • The SPO will play a key role in designing, implementing, and monitoring programs that address the specific needs of the local population in North West Nigeria.

    Responsibilities

    • The role of the Resilience Strengthening and Inclusive Life Activities Coordinator for the STILNN program in Katsina State is multifaceted and pivotal in driving positive change within the State and communities.
    • As the coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to resilience strengthening and inclusivity, developing and implementing strategies to empower target populations, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful programme implementation, supervising and supporting staff, reporting progress to management, preparing detailed reports for donors, representing the organization at various events, monitoring and evaluating programme effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
    • Your primary responsibility is to oversee all resilience strengthening and inclusive life activities in Katsina State under the STILNN programme.

    Programme Officer, Livelihood and Food Security

    Job Purpose

    • Develop and implement comprehensive livelihood and food security strategies that integrate climate-friendly farming practices and organic agriculture in the 5 LGAs under HANDS' oversight.

    • Provide technical assistance, training, and capacity building to farmers, cooperatives, and community groups to adopt sustainable agricultural practices and improve crop yields.
    • Collaborate with government agencies, agricultural experts, environmental organizations, and community leaders to promote the use of climate-friendly farming products and organic inputs for sustainable agriculture.
    • Facilitate access to resources, such as seeds, fertilizers, and tools, that support climate-resilient farming and organic agriculture practices.
    • Monitor and evaluate the impact of livelihood and food security interventions, collecting data on agricultural productivity, income generation, and food access, and reporting findings to the Katsina State Programme Lead.
    • Establish and maintain partnerships with local markets, buyers, and value chain actors to create market linkages for farmers and promote income generation opportunities.
    • Advocate for policies and practices that support sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and food security at the local and regional levels.
    • Conduct training sessions and workshops on climate-smart agriculture, organic farming, and sustainable land management practices for farmers and community members.

    Driver

    Job Purpose

    • The purpose of the Driver’s position is to drive professionally, maintain and be responsible for HANDS’ STILNN programme vehicles at all times; and to ensure the overall goals and objectives of the organization are met and responsibilities of the project are fully attained within HANDS partnership.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Ensure that you have the Nigerian Road Safety approved driver license with you at all time.
    • Ensure the project vehicles are road worthy and report all mechanical fault promptly to the programme officer
    • Ensure that you are with the organization Identity card at all time
    • Obey all traffic regulations in line with Nigeria Highway Code.
    • Avoid unnecessary speeding and be vigilant while overtaking
    • Ensure that your vehicle is clean at all time.
    • Keep a daily accurate Log book with accompany mileage and maintenance record.
    • Do not drink alcohol while on duty.
    • Ensure that the programme assignment is of paramount priority always, avoid accidental occurrences while running errands.
    • Put on the official uniform always during official duties
    • Always park vehicle after closing hours in the office premises.

    • The position of Drivermay involve risks such as drivingto remote hard to reach areas to ensure Programme Officer achives the aims. The Driver must be prepared to address these risks with attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding driving and ethical standards.
