    Accountant (Interior Décor Firm)

    Job Description
    About Company: Our client is a leading integrated interior décor company with office situated in Victoria Island Lagos. The Company specialize in the design and furnishing of Industrial, House/Apartments, Hotels and Outdoors Décor and marketing of imported furniture.

    The Company is seeking to hire an experienced and certified Accountant with strong commercial experience in managing the financial activities and reporting of a high scale company.  The Accountant would be responsible for preparing, examining and analyzing accounting records and financial reports, track invoices, account payables and receivables in order to ensure accuracy and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for monitoring and managing all accounting processes for effective business operations.
    • To administer and maintain accurate and up to date records of financial books in accordance with a predetermined company standard accounting procedure consistent with international best practices.
    • Coordinate and conduct monthly account reconciliation and audit
    • Coordinate the preparation of monthly financial statement and provide report to the management.
    • Supervise all data entry processes as well as manage/ monitor cash disbursement
    • Ensure full utilization of the SAGE/ ERP Evolution in managing all account information system and reporting.
    • Preparation of statutory financial reports
    • Preparation of budgets and cash projections
    • Reconciliation of accounts receivables and payables
    • Analytical review of products performance through variance
    • Cash flow management
    • Liaising with statutory agencies on product importation & documentation
    • Preparation of management reports on monthly basis
    • Preparation & filling of tax returns to the administration (PAYE, WHT & VAT)
    • Preparation & remittance of statutory pension

    Requirements

    • BSC or HND in Accounting, Economics or any related course.
    • Professional membership of ICAN or ACCA is a must.
    • 5 years industry experience in accounting in a highly commercial space fully conversant with GAAP / IFRS, tax laws & company procedures
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Must possess good reporting and analytical skills.
    • Must possess strong ethical standards and high level of integrity
    • Ability to think objectively and demonstrate sound judgment

    Job Summary:  The Quantity Surveyor will be involved in procurement, cost management and reporting. Estimating, tender preparation, rates analysis, material schedule, preparation of BOQ evaluating and establish the cost of production, installation, materials and workmanships and to come out with a well –planned quotation which is beneficial to both the company and the main contractors/client for each individual project that the company is handling.

    S/he will be responsible for maximizing project margin and adding value to the company’s construction process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
    • Maximize project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting.
    • Drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors
    • Carry out monthly financial reviews (CVRs) on projects and forecast final outturn values for cost, sales and margin
    • Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
    •  Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
    • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
    •  Timely submission and negotiation of final accounts to the client/main contractor and subcontractors.
    • Any other additional task assigned.

    Requirements

    • M.Sc. in Quantity Surveying, Project Management or any related field of study.
    • Second degree in any related field
    • 5+ years working as a senior Quantity Surveyor in a construction company.
    • Registered with the Quantity Surveyor Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN)
    • A member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyor (NIQS)
    • Determined work ethic and must be seen to be professional at all times (communication and presentation)
    • Must be computer-literate with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Project
