    Network Administrator

    About the job

    • The Network Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of MRT Net Solutions IT infrastructure.
    • They are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure to support the companys mission and goals.
    • By ensuring optimal network performance, security, and reliability, the Network Administrator contributes to the overall success of the organization and helps maintain MRT Net Solutions reputation for excellence in the IT industry.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure: Develop and execute plans for the organizations network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues: Regularly assess network performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime and maintain the highest level of network efficiency.
    • Ensure network security and protect sensitive data: Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to safeguard the organizations data and information assets.
    • Collaborate with other IT team members to optimize network performance: Work closely with colleagues in IT, including system administrators and software developers, to identify and resolve network-related issues and optimize overall performance.
    • Install, configure, and maintain networking equipment and software: Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment, such as routers, switches, and servers, as well as networking software and tools.
    • Develop and implement network policies and procedures: Create and enforce network policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and secure network operations across the organization.
    • Plan and execute network upgrades and expansion: Assess the organizations current and future networking needs and develop strategies for network upgrades, expansions, or migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
    • Train and assist users in network-related issues: Provide training and support to end-users, helping them understand and resolve network-related issues and improving overall user experience.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members: Serve as a resource for colleagues within the IT department, offering expertise and advice on network-related matters and assisting in troubleshooting and problem resolution.

    Requirements

    Educational qualifications: 

    • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required for the Network Administrator position.

    Relevant certifications: 

    • Possession of relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or similar, is highly desirable to demonstrate technical expertise and commitment to the field.

    Work experience:

    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration, preferably in a similar industry or business environment.

    Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software: 

    • In-depth understanding of networking concepts, protocols, hardware components, and software tools is essential for managing and maintaining the organizations network infrastructure.

    Familiarity with network security best practices:

    •  Knowledge of best practices in network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, and encryption, is crucial for protecting sensitive data and ensuring overall network integrity.

    Problem-solving and analytical skills: 

    • The ability to analyze complex network issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions is critical for maintaining network performance and reliability.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: 

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effectively collaborating with colleagues, providing end-user support, and conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team: 

    • The Network Administrator must be capable of working autonomously on tasks and projects while also collaborating effectively with other IT team members and departments.

    Time management and organizational skills: 

    • Effective time management and organizational skills are essential for prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and ensuring the smooth operation of the organizations network infrastructure.

    Willingness to stay updated with emerging networking technologies:
