Splicing Technician at Aldreda Fields Limited

Description 

• Support the splicing, termination and testing of fiber optic cables in both outdoor and indoor settings
• Maintain control of outside plant (OSP) activities surrounding the assigned work site(s)
• Perform cable splicing/termination in accordance with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal problems.
• Preparing fiber sheaths, splicing and test individual fibers
• Perform proper fiber management within fiber optic enclosures
• Maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.
• Read and understand network splicing plans, and taking and maintaining accurate field notes.
• Prepare engineering splicing field notes.
• Interprete splice diagrams, buried underground, and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps and in the field.
• Make recommendations for changes in fiber assignments.
• Adhere to instructions and specifications given by the Project Manager, OSP specialist, Design Engineers and Supervisors.
