    Information Security Specialist

    About the Role

    As the Information Security Specialist, you will be responsible for improving the security of our computer networks and databases. As part of our team at Klasha, your first task will be to audit our entire security system to identify weaknesses in hardware, software, or employee procedures. This critical role will be tasked with ensuring the security and integrity of information systems. It requires a proactive approach to safeguard sensitive data against unauthorized access, breaches, and various cyber threats. The specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust security protocols and systems, ensuring that all security measures are up-to-date and effective

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and Implement Security Policies: Design, develop, and enforce comprehensive security policies, protocols, and procedures that align with industry standards and organizational goals.
    • Network Traffic Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze network traffic to detect any unusual activity, potential security incidents, and vulnerabilities that could compromise the system.
    • Security Audits and Risk Assessments: Conduct regular security audits and thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
    • Incident Response: Act promptly in the event of a security breach or incident, leading the investigation and remediation efforts to minimize damage and prevent recurrence.
    • Manage Security Tools and Technologies: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software to ensure optimal performance.
    • Employee Training and Guidance: Provide training sessions and ongoing guidance to employees on security best practices, creating a culture of security awareness within the organization.
    • Stay Informed: Keep abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and emerging technologies by participating in professional forums, attending conferences, and pursuing continuous education.
    • Compliance Management: Ensure that all security measures comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. 
    • Collaboration with Engineering Team: Work closely with the Engineering department and other stakeholders to integrate security measures into the overall IT infrastructure and development processes.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of security incidents, audits, and compliance efforts. Prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders to keep them informed of security status and improvements.

    Qualifications:

    • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field is essential. Advanced degrees are a plus.
    • Professional Certifications: Holding professional certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) is highly preferred.
    • Experience: Proven experience in information security or a related role is required. Experience in conducting security audits, risk assessments, and incident response is crucial.
    • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of security protocols, principles, and standards. Familiarity with various security tools and technologies.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify security issues and develop effective solutions.
    • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.

    Head of Finance

    About the role

    Klasha is seeking to hire a proactive and dynamic candidate for the role of Head of Finance who will, amongst other things, be tasked with monitoring, communicating, and shaping our financial health. Working closely with our CEO and Department Heads, the successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a first-rate Finance vertical. 

    As a Seed-stage startup, you will be comfortable wearing multiple hats, this position requires the ability to work independently, communicate complex concepts in concise terms, prioritise tasks, and work with various departments efficiently.

    Job Description

    • Liquidity and treasury management, overseeing Klasha's financial resources to help meet wider business objectives.
    • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
    • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
    • Develop trends and projections for Klasha's finances.
    • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction/optimisation opportunities.
    • Oversee operations of the Finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
    • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
    • Liaise with auditors to ensure the appropriate monitoring of Company finances is maintained
    • Confident oversight and delivery of Central bank reporting 
    • Manage complex banking and third party strategic relationships 
    • Managing the output and nurturing the development of a scaling finance team 

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related course 
    • Deep domain understanding of the African and international payments ecosystems
    • Exposure to multiple currencies  
    • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in payments and/or fintech 
    • Considerable experience leading and scaling a finance function 
    • CIMA or equivalently certified 
    • Significant exposure to Treasury Management, FP&A and reconciliation 
    • Experience working globally 
    • Automation savvy, with proficiency in analytics and wider tooling. 
    • Ability to execute root cause analysis 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to identify and defend data-driven recommendations. 
    • A charismatic relationship builder, able to win the trust of external and internal partners alike 
    • High level of determination and tenacity.
    • Good understanding of compliance activities in financial services.
    • Experience operating in an investor facing capacity

    Legal and Compliance Manager

    About the role

    Klasha is seeking to hire an apt and dynamic candidate who will function as the Legal and Compliance Manager and will amongst other things be responsible for the reviewing of all relevant statutory laws and regulations applicable to the organization. The candidate will be responsible for providing legal, analytical, and administrative management to the company, with a heavy focus on managing the company’s litigation portfolio, providing guidance and support to external counsel, administering corporate compliance, responding to regulatory inquiries, assisting with company audits, and review of policies and contracts. This position requires the ability to work independently, communicate complex concepts in concise terms, prioritize tasks, and work with various departments efficiently

    What will you be doing:

    Compliance:

    • Review of all relevant statutory laws and regulations applicable to the company and ensure compliance
    • Ensure that business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures
    • Ensure that all regulatory permissions remain current and appropriate for business needs
    • Continual compliance risk assessment of company practices together with the development of internal policies and procedures, compliance training and protocols
    • Serve as liaison for all regulatory bodies as well as maintaining relationships with relevant legal bodies and trade associations
    • Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry initiatives and advise management accordingly
    • Liaise with third parties, together with the company’s management, that wish to understand the company’s control environment, compliance policies and procedures
    • Provide reporting with respect to regulatory requirements and developments
    • Develop compliance checklists and prepare compliance reports, as and when due
    • Inform the internal audit unit of any findings as regards non-compliance that may require investigation
    • Ensuring compliance with best practices
    • Participate in business process re-engineering exercises to ensure controls therein
    • Carry out review of SLA Manuals to ensure applicable regulatory laws are incorporated

    Legal:

    • Liaise with auditors, external lawyers, tax advisers, bankers and shareholders
    • Preparation of compliance documentation with relevant constitutive documents for statutory, legal, regulatory purposes
    • Liaison with all the subsidiaries within the company’s group, service providers, external legal advisers, and government agencies
    • Maintenance and review of legal agreements
    • Developing and overseeing that the company meets its compliance obligations under relevant laws and the requirements of regulatory authorities
    • Negotiation, drafting and implementation of the terms of agreements in all business contracts and agreements
    • Responsible for providing legal support in controlling customer complaints to mitigate the risk of litigation
    • Review all documentation that has legal implications for the company prior to signing and implementing

    You should apply if you:

    •  Have a Bachelor’s degree in Law
    •  Have an LLM (an advantage)
    •  Have Minimum of 5 years working experience with at least 3 years compliance experience preferably within the financial services environment 
    •  Have technology savviness
    •  Have high level of determination and tenacity
    •  Have good understanding of compliance activities in financial services
    •  Have experience in developing and managing compliance monitoring program's
    •  Are fully conversant with NAICOM, SEC, NSE, CAC, NFIU, IFRS, and other regulatory directives and guidelines
